The headmaster gimmick on the targetmasters is still disappointing though. I'm glad that Hasrbo largely doesn't sacrifice figures for the gimmick of the month anymore.

With all that "kibble" Apeface kind of looks like an Arielbot..

Zero sacrifices were made for the heads tho, if anything the necessity for a pilot compartment improved the vehicle modes rather than hinder them (a bit redundant on the beast bots but hey)

I have Apeface, wanted one since Titans Return (and Snapdrgon still.) He's pretty good, transformation process can be a little annoying sometimes. And you're right -- the instructions are terrible. They should edit down the "greeble" and make them brighter.
What peg were you having trouble with?

The chopper guy looks cool, too, with two canopies in robot-mode yet one in alt-mode. But I'm limiting my purchases to figures that I really want because HasTak have been making too many cool figures lately.

The one on the back that the shield pegs into in jet and ape mode. I've since fixed the problem. See how here.

Spinister is a really cool figure and I dig the silhouette it has. I enjoyed the character in the recent comics and this figure fits that perfectly and still remains very faithful to the G1 toy.

Another figure, wherein to have had him back in the day, he would have been one of my absolute favourites. Having Gnaw in hand, I’d say in terms of design, sculpt and transformation, he is one of the best in G1.

A Prime Problem.

If the Combiner Wars & Power of the Primes versions had better decos I might have got them, too. So good thing that they didn't. And I skipped over Powermaster, Ginrai and the triple-changer. But I do still want EarthRise with a good deco.

Yes and I regret it; the backpack kills the thing. What were the film-people thinking redesigning him with a Superman-like body and zero vehicular parts save for the pipes on his back?

Wish I had the "dark" Optimus voyager instead, it looks more compact and probably scales with Galvatron. But at this point I'm not going to bother.
