You guys are lucky to even have it. I went to TRU yesterday and they didn't have any. Today the manager there came by where I work(it's right across the parking lot) and I asked him if he knew when they were getting them. He said he saw a guy buy 4 or 5 of them, sure enough I went by right after and there was an empty space where they should have been. This scalper thing is really starting to piss me off.

Man that sucks to hear!! i hate scalpers and for me theres one way to deal with them thats make'em bite the curb and kick the back of their head!!! Greedy bastards...

Ok, now that MP Grimmy is back in stock, I called up TRU and ordered him again.

As promised, they sold him to me at the original 59.99, with free shipping and a 10% discount for my inconvenience. So, I got MP Grimlock for $54!.

Even though TRU's in-store customer service kind of sucks, I am impressed with their returns department. They originally issued me a credit right when I called them about wanting to return him. They didn't even wait to get him back.

So i should be receiving a new one next week. Hopefully, he will have tight joints and no battery issues. Fingers crossed!

Yeah I am doing basically the same think. Buying a new one off the website and going to return the old one with the new receipt. Think next round of questions we get to send to Hasbro one of the HAS to be about their current QC issues.

Got one today at the store. Opened him with both exciting and fear emotions. Yep, he is nice and fun. Yep, mine also has the loose hip issue, but not that bad. So he can still make some decent poses without legs opening wise, but need to be careful. Hopefully later there will be some genius people post on how to fix it.

That does suck. Scalpers really make the whole situation less fun. It is pretty ridiculous.

Mine has loose hips aswell but not that bad. Still can pose him one leg if i want.
Well actually...that was after tightening the screws. His left arm was practically falling off so i had to pop his arm off at the ball joint to get at the screw that holds on the bracket. Tightened it as much as i could. Even started to strip the head of the screw but the ball joint bracket still likes to pull away from his body. It's alot better but i shouldn't be tightening screws.
i think that whomever put him together didn't put that screw in straight and now it just spins and doesn't tighten properly cause the plastic is stripped out a bit.

I just bought my MP Grimlock yesterday night and I have not opened it yet (it's so pretty). But looking at everyone's issues with their Grimlock's makes me wonder and hope that my Grimlock is not loose. Although I plan to keep it in Dino mode as I like the dino mode much better, now all I need to go buy is a "Wheelie" to mount on his back..haha :grin:

a fraction of what takara rips us off for and the hips are the same on both figures as my friend angrily found out and he was mad that he got the takara for so much so anyone out there get this figure before it is gone here is his grimlock mp tru collection

Got my replacement MP Grim in the mail today.

So I called TRU and they of course credited me again. Also, I asked and they agreed that i could hang on to this one for now, wait until I've receive the replacement, and then mix and match the parts as needed. So they are kind of letting me play Frankenstein with MP Grimlocks. also, they are giving me free overnight shipping.

Yay TRU. Boo Hasbro.

I think I'm going to pass on this. $70 is too much for it anyway, plus with these QC issues it's just a total rip off.

the japan which has the same issue as the us version is double the price so your lucky to even have the mp here in the usa takara could've just not given us any and we would've gotten it for 100 plus dollars, i think you should get it and when it's gone the price will go up and you would've been regretting not getting it at that price.

I just picked up my MP grimlock about 40 minutes ago from Toys R us. There were about 3 remaining ($74 with tax). I've never played with the takara version but the hips don't seem loose to me. No where near as tight/stiff as the knee joints but he's definitely not falling over or doing leg splits.

The only thing that I noticed was his left fist doesn't open, though his thumb moves. The right fist does open and close. Is that standard with the Takara issue or another QC issue?

Overall, I like the figure

???? I think right fist doesn't open with movable thumb but left fist does. Right fist cannot open because there is a LED inside to light up his sword and gun.

hey, you're right. I glossed over the instructions and missed the part about his weapons glowing. And also, it is the right, and not left fist, that doesn't open. I just had him facing me when I posted it. Anyway, thanks

I found a MP Grimlock in Atlanta TRU. I will never be aware of the QC issues cause I can't bring myself to free him from his plastic and cardboard prison! Good looking packaging and I lucked out and found an IMMACULATE box. and the LAST one on the shelf at any TRU in Atlanta.
