Thanks Editor, that seems to have done the trick. All other prior trains of thought are now shot but I don't have a TV theme stuck in my head so I'd say it's a good trade-off.

From what I can see the issue is that there aren't many episodes and as it's a french production that it's possible not many copies in English are easily accessible to youtubers. No VHS/DVD release, so unless somebody recorded it, it could be lost.

In 1997 the animated series Barbe-Rouge was made by the French TF1 and Italian RAI. This series consists of 26 episodes of 24 minutes. It has also been broadcasted in English ("Captain Red Beard"),Norway (Kaptein Rødskjegg) and Italy ("Barbarossa"). The scenarios were written by Jean Cubaud. The animations were done by Pasquale Moreau and Thibault Deschamps, from PRH Création Images.[1] In 2005, a DVD with five episodes of the animated Redbeard series was released in France (Barbe-Rouge).

C'mon, get that Moustache Feeling! Somehow the memory of this song made it better than it actually was, but nonetheless it's still cool... and it'll catch in your head in seconds.
