Rated X wrote:The scale in this picture makes me want to cancel my pre-order. I thought this figure was supposed to be the same height as classics Prime ? Now all of a sudden it scales with MP figures ? Exactly how small is MP Prowl ?

Interesting, looking good. I gotta ask the million dollar questions? what parts form the big gun? what parts form the cassette? does the small gun that looks like TM1 Primal's gun, form any part of the cassette, big gun or armor on the robot?

Intah-wib-buls?

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

Rated X wrote:The lips are dumb looking but I can live with them. What irks me is that the cassette deck isn't standard size. I always felt the standard G1 size cassette was too small for MP scale, but perfect for classics scale. This is supposed to be classics Blaster, right ? So why not make it fit classics scale cassettes like KFC ? Or are KFC cassettes supposed to be MP scale even though they aren't MP style engineering ?

Eh, I think the alt mode size of cassettes kinda throws everything off. G1 size is the same size used for MP Soundwave, which I think is fitting since his chest is smaller in comparison to the rest of his body which is more show accurate. For Classics, the only component of any cassettes/cassette bots we really ever got was Ravage, but with them never making a true 'Classics' Soundwave for him to go with, I expect it was just intended to be a one-off thing as the only item classified as 'Classics Soundwave' in any official measure is the reissue of the G1 figure.
As for this guy, I'm with you that I'd prefer it worked with G1 size cassettes, particularly since there are so many 3rd party ones coming out right now, however I will say that if they did increase the chest size, they'd need to scale up the entire figure, otherwise the chest would be way too massive for my tastes. The proportions on this figure are very nice and very tempting. In all honesty though, I see little point in trying to scale the chest to hold the cassettes since I figure most of us who might buy this guy would probably never keep any cassettes inside him anyway because we'd want to display him surrounded by his cassette buddies transformed into their robot/animal forms.
I'm still undecided on whether or not I'll be getting this guy or not, but after seeing these latest pics, it has become quite tempting.

UT pobably didn't want to make this carry G-1 scaled Cassettes. Because UT would of Had to increase the scale to Ultra Scale. It would have needed to be MP-13 Soundwave scale.
Looking at the current UT Blaster design. There is just no way. UT could have expanded the cassete cavity to carry G-1 scaled cassettes.
I think most of UT toys are fail. As UT favors the Voyager scaled,Thin & compact sculpt. It seems like UT wants this scale,As they maximize more profits.
UT should venture out into bulkier bigger scaled toys. As Their sculpts ,Articulation & engineering are nice.
Rated X wrote:Why wouldn't standard size cassettes work ? It worked for Sonicron. The only reason I didn't buy Sonicron was because it was too neo for me. If UT made the chest bigger to fit standard cassettes, then they would have had to bump it about an inch to Mania Kings height. But it doesn't need to be huge like MP Soundwave just to fit standard size cassettes. I choose to call them "standard" size because saying they are MP scale is very debatable. The classics Ravage that came with Hound was standard size. BTS Tremor, Frequenzy, Nightfang, and Savage were all standard size cassettes aimed towards classics collectors before MP Soundwave even existed. Not to mention TFC's standard size scout cassette that came with the Gear of War set which was clearly a classics upgrade set.
