IP theft is often discussed here, but it's usually in legal tones with a lot of high handed opinions on both sides.

It's actually kind of flattering to be honest. But def. bootlegged and they even drew their robot (a Gobot clone it seems) in the same style.

But if they are fully producing unlicensed transformers/Gobots toys it would probably be hard to get them on swiping a design for the packaging.

I'll let AcidFree know about this, but honestly I'm not too miffed, there's a long history of bootlegging toys and appropriating often unrelated artwork for the packaging.

Well that's that. I really didn't want to defend UT. In fact I don't even like UT or KFC or Xtransbot (all the same company) they are basically KO companies getting into making third party stuff. So them doing something like this is kind of their "style"

I'm just a buyer, I could care less about a 3rd party company ripping off a art style from someone else. If It creates better box art, Then I welcome it.

I maybe would have liked finger-less claws on the hands instead of the standard trigger finger extended fists. But, )@^# this thing looks good. I want a second one to display in both bot and bike modes. I am impressed, UT...

I don't like the spiky wheel guards, but they are 100% ignorable.

I also don't like the different colored feet, but I get why they had to do that.

This is looking better and better with each release of images.

Great pictures! And I like the sparring use of chrome. I hope this is just another sign of UT showing maturity in their offerings.

I do find it kinda... funny that he's got guns when the original didn't and fired blasts from his fists.

Those fist lasers are one thing that need to stay forgotton. Another thing I hated was planet Gobotron being a wannabe rebuilt death star.

I have to disagree there. As a kid, I loved the look of Gobotron. Very distinctive, like the Cylon Basestar, and easy for me to doodle in school.
The fist lasers, on the other hand? Yeah, those bothered me as a kid too.

My Cy-Kill doesn't need no stinking gun

. It never bothered me one bit that Gobots could shoot energy from their arms/fists. They're made of metal, which is generally conducive to electricity and heat etc. anyway, so in my brain it kinda makes sense. Besides, if the Autobots can shoot lasers out of their headlights...

Still, I wish they'd made his hands round like on the original toy and on the show. That was always part of his signature look. Perhaps I'll get me a Super Gobots Cy-Kill, assuming the fists are the right size, and do a kitbash once I get my Salmoore.

Peaugh has a You Tube video review for Salmoore.

Peaugh mentions in this review. That Salmoore will be on Display at Botcon this weekend at the TFSource booth.

Sadly Peaugh didn't do any size comparisons for Salmoore in this You Tube Video. Hopefully TFScource at Botcon displays Salmoore next to other Transformers toys at Botcon.

This weekend at TFCon a company named DX9 had pics of recolors using the UT Salmoore sculpt. One recolor and retool is Wreckgar. The other is a Evil-Eviler black green recolor. http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-new ... -1-180694/

Your going to need scroll through a few pics on this link above. Images 19 and 21, Shows DX9-UT Wreckgar and that black-green recolor using the UT Salmoore sculpt.

Guessing that DX9 and UT might both be the same company. Perhaps there sister-brother companies. Or maybe similar to FP, other themed companies like Core, X , all run within the same company.

Don't have a clue why DX9 is listing UT products. Thinking their both Brother-Sister companies. DX9 at TFCon this weekend listed UT Salmoore repaints and retools under their DX9 name like Wreckgar-Salmoore.

Thinking DX9-UT Crasher is a Deluxe-Voyager 6.2 inch robot height toy like Salmoore is.

Strongly guessing that DX9-UT recolors Crasher into a G-1 Mirage Update toy. Possibly even recoloring it into a Stunticons Drag Strip update toy.

Think the Salmoore name came from some of the odd colors on this toy.

Still a bit dis-pleased that Salmoore gets the beautifully styled box and high art. While UT Wreckgar gets a terrible styled box and inferior art, That looks like a 1980's grammar school metal tin lunch box.

Got him today. He's standing on my desk right now.

He looks great and seems nicely-built. Admittedly I'm not the greatest expert on that aspect.

But it's great to have a Cy-Kill.

My POL arrived today - definitely got some nice stuff. Included was the Salmoore I picked up on Black Friday. Boy, I'm glad I got this guy. Besides for loose hips (which should be quite fixable using one of the usual methods), this guy is great. He's leagues ahead of the Sharkies, and maybe even ManiaKing, in quality and articulation (YES WRIST SWIVEL!!!), and is just a great character to have as part of my Classics shelf.

Well done, UT. I still have no plans on buying Ordin, but I watch with interest.
