Is a shame, and you're definately one of the names that I was looking forward to putting a face to this year. Sure you've heard all about it but the balcony drinking sessions with Gruff last year were firetrucking legendary. I'm not that far south from you guys though so if you fancy doing a northerners meet for some serious drinking and mecha chat I should be able to do that on the cheap. I'm sure normal service will be resumed in future years, this will be the first one that I've missed in quite a while, but things are a bit weird on a few fronts here at the moment. I've basicly had to justify it on the grounds that if I can't afford to do it properly spends wise then it's just too expensive just for the social, and unfortunately the social aspect is the best bit (I can buy toys anywhere, damnit!). Mechacat not being able to make it back from Sausageland for the con this year is a bit of a factor too as I'd originally budgetted on sharing a room with her, could have reorganised of course with Siegfried getting first refusal but my commitments in Yorkshire are just a bit too intense when my reserves are bled a bit too dry.

Seriously though if you and Gruff want to organise a party weekend up your way drop me a PM and I'll forward you my number and look into cheap hotels in Carlisle, could be a fun one.

Or if you guys fancy a few days in Thirsk I'm sure the Bulgarians won't mind me putting you up in the spare room for a few days, it's a straight enough run down and I live right on the A19 so I'm easy enough to find. Again would be great to put a face to the name and to catch up with Gruff. We really did have a laugh last year.
