Yeah they're pretty brain dead - one of them nearly wiped out my dad the other week - he was pulling out of a side road and the guy was indicating to turn in but carried straight on - cue much swerving and swearing.

My last lesson, there was a country road with a blind corner that went about 130 degrees to the right. Very narrow road and a bus came the other way. That was a little hair raising to say the least. :?

Xybertoys assuming they get their restock when they say. I didn't get mine from there - maybe you could also ask Ravage XK (tfzone.co.uk)if he's getting more in.

Nope...ravage aint got nothin.....looks like i might have to pick something else then....

Whats good enough to replace an MP Megatron? Hmm...i dont want any autobots as i want to start collecting decepticons as they are outnumbered in my collection by autobots.

Any suggestions? (i only ask because im still kinda new to collecting so im not really very knowledgeable about whats good and what isnt. Im only interested in transformers from G1 and 2007 Movie)

Walmart Starscream perhaps? Not sure whos stocking him in the UK but I believe BBTS just put up a limited preorder for him at the $95 mark, add shipping and VAT if you get caught out and that should be around the £75-90 range. I just got hit for £20 VAT on my AD-1 Galvatron kit despite ticking 'mark as gift' on my BBTS account. Less than happy about that but what was I going to do? Just say "No that's alright, just send it back to the states. There's a hundred of the things out there, I'm sure I'll find another one.". Really not too fond of customs at the moment.

I already have him coming from Hong Kong, but are you saying i might have to pay MORE money just to get MY toy from customs?! How the hell do they justify charging people for something they have already paid for?!? What the **** is going on with this country? I tell ya if i receive a letter saying anything like that the person at customs whom i will have to call is really gonna get an ear full, and i wont hold back with the swearing. Lousy good for nothing pieces of scum.

If you're buying something from a seller oversees you're paying for the goods and depending on where and how legit they are you're paying any local taxes that are applicable. You aren't paying any UK VAT on your purchase however and that's where customs can sting you. Also if you're dealing with an item worth greater than £250 it's also liable for import duty on top of that. Everything that I've ever had come from china has been marked with a gift declaration and a nominal declared value of £10 or so regardless of what the actual sale value was. The Chinese just know how these things work. Three times this year with items coming in from the US I've been stung, and always on the expensive **** too. Over £50 in VAT and handling charges. Also customs won't actually keep hold of the item. They'll release it to the Royal Mail or other delivering courier who'll let you know that it's at the local depot, that there's a charge to pay and that they won't enter into disputes between you and customs. This is where it starts to add up since the VAT alone on that kit should have been a touch over £10 almost half of what I was charged was in Royal Mail handling fees.

Other than Starscream then... What about a vintage piece? Something like Shockwave or Jetfire maybe (assuming that they'd be in budget and you don't already have them)? The SDCC exclusives, or at least Rodimus? Sky Lynx won't be out in time for Christmas so that one's out of the running. I'd love to be able to recomend the Jizaitoys Cyclonus but nice as it looks it justs sucks too hard as a toy.

Hell you should know better than the rest of us what's best for you. Strange as this sounds if there's nothing that's really moving you maybe you should go for something other than a TF.

Hmm...hopefully the guy marked it right then. I only paid £25 for it, the remaining £34 was shipping charges. I still have about another week before its due to arrive anyway so we'll see. Bloody royal mail, they go on strike, offer a sub-par service at the best of times yet they still think they can charge us up the arse for their crap. I hate this **** country sometimes i really do.

Anyway its not that nothing isn't moving me, its just that theres so much choice i want them all, but can only afford a few. So i need to whittle down the choices and im crap with making decisions. I want some vintage toys for xmas like a G1 Prime but i cant decide on what else. Jetfire would be cool to have but i already have the classics version, and i never see him on eBay. It has to be sort of easy to find otherwise the wife and parents cant buy it for me for Christmas ya see. :P

What are the other sdcc exclusives? Rodimus would be a cool figure to have...so would that decepticon Bot Con set but i bet thats going for hundreds. I'm not really interested in the sky linx re-issue as ive never been in to that character much so thats just as well. I'll probably pick him up a few months after his release.

Whats the classics devastator set like?

Try getting a G1 combiner in its gift set box (all 5/6 figures in one box). My parents got me the superion one a couple of years ago as a surprise and I love it. It was in brilliant condition (hardly played with) and the only things it was missing were the left fist and the polystyrene insert. It only cost £40, which I think is a bargain for a set in such good condition.

Combine harvesters are the worst. They only just fit down the roads round here!

Sonray, have you tried Digital toys or tfsource? I wouldn't give up on Megatron just yet. Keep searching.

The Classics Devastator set isn't everyone's cup of tea, but personally I love it. Makes me want Superion and Bruticus even more so than before.

Digital toys is no good, they are based in America. An MP Megatron will get seized if it has to go through customs. I need to find one thats already in the UK.

I contacted ravage, he's the owner of TF source isn't he? He said he hasn't got any, but he might be getting some in mid-December which isn't much help.

*sigh* Guess i'll just have to choose something else.

I would have thought so because of stupid laws and customs being idiots...

I thought that was why they don't sell them in this country or in the USA...

Nah, they just want to charge us obscene amounts to acquire them. It's a conspiracy I say! :P

We'll have to see about customs. Me bro's receiving one in late December time, so we'll have to wait and see whether it's seized or not. It has one of those removable plugs in the barrel, so it should be fine. :-?

The plugs on Mp-05 aren't really a problem at all. Sometimes they don't even have glue in them.

And customs actually charges you for something you already payed for  They can do that? Is that a British thing? I'm over in America and I've never heard of such a thing and I've bought WSTs and other Japanese items from oversees without any such hassle.

It doesn't happen in every case, only if you're unfortunate enough to be the one package they decide to inspect and make a half assed judgement on.

I once had to pay a customs charge of £3 on a poster from Japan. A poster!!

Just been to my local Tesco store and they now have Final battle Jazz, Robo-replicas & Longarm in stock.

Also saw some Star Wars Chubbies??

Never seen them before, they are like the Russian dolls that are different sizes and fit inside each other. They had Palpatine & C3PO + a few others.

Well this is a dire state of afairs...

I havnt bought a tf since the first sudnay after my last payday. And I just got paid again today, so thats nearly 4 weeks without buying a tf.
In that time I've bought all of S1 of Thundercats, first two seasons of Lost, 3 in one boxset of the Takara Tf serieses and Doctor Who S3....

A combination of there being F**K all transformers that interests me in my home town and working or being away for the last3 sundays (the day I normally go somewhere worth looking) has totaly put my collecting in its tracks.

My G1 MP Starscream just arrived!!!!

Waaaaaay quicker than i thought it would arrive thats for sure, and no customs charges!

Man is he AWESOME! And his jet mode is surprisingly huge. He is much bigger as a jet than he is as a robot.

The detail is fantastic and the quality is good. He feels very fragile but not in a way where you are afraid to touch him if that makes any sense.

I will take a few pics later and show ya/show off. :P
