AA is normally around the start of June. They had a break this year due to Sven, one of the organisers, having some ongoing health problems. No firm announcement on next year as yet, we'll probably hear something late January or early February. To keep up to date you can find the con website at http://www.autoassembly.org.uk with reports on past events, some electronic TF jigsaws for download and a friendly, if somewhat underused just recently, forum.

Where do you find KO's in shops in this country?

The Entertainer has a few KOs, including a craptastic G1 Prime knock off which makes me want to gauge my own eyes out with an icepick.

It's quite the opposite for me. At first, I was given a budget of £100 off me parents. But now when I go shoppin with me ma, she'll say 'you want that?', and we'll buy it.

I'm up to £150 atm, cos I'm a reasonable kinda guy :P

It was definitely supposed to be some time this month. Excellent series, watched it all on youtube ahead of picking up the season 1 DVDs. I really wasn't expecting to get into it with all the bad press it's had over the years but it just blows away anything before or since. Don't listen to the haters, buy Beast Machines.

I watched it on Youtube around the start of the year, because I hadn't seen it before and I had no (feasable) way of watching it. Expecting bad things due to the press, I actually found I loved it. It's my third fav series after BW and G1 (in that order). No other show has me actively cheering for both sides to win for completely different reasons.

So, I'll keep my eyes peeled for any appearances by it.

Don't suppose anyone has a spare backplate for a G1 Birdbrain pretender shell? Turns out the one I found (with the right gun) in a box at the seller's stall wasn't actually the right one. I'm otherwise pretty happy with it, it's in much better condition than a lot of the stuff the guy had.

Yes, I went to Collectormania today. Also picked up a loose Armada Sea Team, Wheeljack's Minicon and (from a different stall) G1 deco movie Jazz, albeit at a rather hefty cost for that last one.

I can get Beast Machines, please tell me whether or not I want to. I love what I've seen of Beast Wars but that's only around ten episodes so is BM worth my outlay at this stage?

It's a convention of sorts. Lots of guests doing signings, photo ops, Q&A sessions and stuff (Including actors from Star Trek Enterprise, Stargate Atlantis, Babylon 5 and old Doctor Who), plus a large dealer's hall where you can buy all sorts of merchandise and stuff. One was held in Manchester this weekend.

The entire series is on youtube if you want a taste ahead of shelling out for the DVDs. It's a lot more grown up and darker than other TF cartoons. Basicly there are only a handful of Maximals left on Cybertron after Megatron manages to wipe out the entire population replacing them with an army of Vehicon drones. It deals with issues of spirituality and the balance between nature (Maximals) and technology (Vehicons). Megatron has the upper hand for the majority of the series giving it a real guerilla warfare feel. Hope that was general enough not to be spoilerific.

Plus the opening music is totally banging.

edit - Here's the first episode in three parts.
