The entire series is on youtube if you want a taste ahead of shelling out for the DVDs. It's a lot more grown up and darker than other TF cartoons. Basicly there are only a handful of Maximals left on Cybertron after Megatron manages to wipe out the entire population replacing them with an army of Vehicon drones. It deals with issues of spirituality and the balance between nature (Maximals) and technology (Vehicons). Megatron has the upper hand for the majority of the series giving it a real guerilla warfare feel. Hope that was general enough not to be spoilerific.

Plus the opening music is totally banging.

The toy line wasn't the greatest- I do love the Veichons though- but the show is excellent. It really catered towards the older audience.

Such a shame that we went from that to RiD and the AEC trilogy... :-(

Yeah, I spotted that in their last email. From the look of the picture though it's the DVD version. When the first release is still pretty readilly available from TRU for £50 it really doesn't seem worth it.

BM series 2 is indeed out today, for £9.95 in HMV. Picked one up. Hee hee. Just thought I'd let you all know if anyone else wanted it. I just think it would have been better having Megatron on the front, instead of Cheetor. And the back of disc 1 box has images from BW on it. Series 2 of BW.

Master Blaster, I'm sure you'll do awesome in your exams. Uni life is awesomely chilled

Now, onto the TF News!

My local Toys R Us has knocked down Reissue Red Alert from 14.99 to 9.99 - will certainly be getting him next week when I have money.

My best friend came to visit me and took me to Forbidden Planet and bought me Titanium Series Ultra Magnus. Whilst he does look awesome, his arms fall off damn easily and I can't work out how to properly put him into vehicle mode - his legs are too fiddly. Looks like he'll be staying in robot mode for a while, which is not too bad as I am running out of room on my shelf.

And to finish, I was poking through the "Price as Marked" bin when I came across a loose Energon Hightower. No packaging or instructions, but managed to find the fists of Energon Devastator as well at the bottom. After some carefully chosen words, I got him for a pound :D

Isn't it just. I have 6 hours of lectures per week. I feel like I should be doing some reading or something else when I'm not there.

On another note, ebayUk seems to have lots of G1 Gestalt KOs for sale. I'm thinking of picking up a couple of them, does anyone know if they are any good?

Ha. That's nothing compared to my 5 day weekend. My timetable is:
Lecture - 11-12 Wednesday
Lecture - 1-3 Thursday
Lecture - 10-1 Friday

On the subject of the KOs. I got a couple a few years back. They're alright. I got Devastator and Bruticus. Paintwork is a bit rubbish on the faces and Bonecrusher's legs were on back to front (still are as I can't be bothered to fix them).

I wanted a 5 day weekend, but they wouldn't let me have it. Curse you Nottingham University, you make my life so unfair :P

I was actually thinking of getting those two - Bruticus has been my fave gestalt forever and I don't have the cash to get an original, so one of these will have to do. :(

The only thing you have to be wary about Bruticus is which colours the moulds are in. The one I got was the RID Ruination colours

I'm not too fussed about the colours, just the mould.

It makes me wonder if the Defensor is any good...

Or the Superion...

Damnit, student loans suck :P

Thanks for all the advice on Beast Machines, I decided to get it (needed cheering up after a rotten day). Went to shop earlier and it was gone #-o . That's okay, got Alt Prime instead, what a lump :) .

Been a bit of a good news bad news kinda day.
Good News - nipped to a charity shop near were i used to live and found a non-poundland KO RM Prime for 25p - slightly battered but rescueable (despite crap paint apps!) also picked up a Cyberman for 25p! Bargain!

Also popped into QLM but had to leave sharpish.
They got Classics in for a tenner (Ramjet, Cliffjumper & Mirage)
They've also got an interesting KO line in, sadly i forget the name but it's basically £2.50 and there are 4 models.
1 is a variation on Optimus
the other 3 are a body like hot spot or onslaught and a Gestalt head, they mostly had one with Bruticus's head in stock.

Bad news.
After passing on Movie Swindle at Netto's last week a mate showed me his one... It's not bad really, not bad at all, it would make a very passable movie Shockwave with not a lot of work. I realised I'm not gonna see an Alt or even E Shockblast in my preferred price range (under £20.00) in a hurry so kitbashing Swindel would work out very well.
#-o Can I Find the Damn figure now! grrrrr!

Did Movie/Game Payload ever make it to the UK either?
