After passing on Movie Swindle at Netto's last week a mate showed me his one... It's not bad really, not bad at all, it would make a very passable movie Shockwave with not a lot of work. I realised I'm not gonna see an Alt or even E Shockblast in my preferred price range (under £20.00) in a hurry so kitbashing Swindel would work out very well.
Can I Find the Damn figure now! grrrrr!

I can pick it up for you - there are a few at the Sainsbury's near me. I think they were £9.99 so throw in a few quid for postage and I can get it for you.

As does Toys R Us, those damn things are everywhere

My Tesco had Alt Shockblast for £15 the other day. That'll be less than £20 posted if you want me to grab it for you.

Yes Please Mr. Waaaaghlord!
Though the wife will probably kill me as there are still 4 more figures to arrive in the post from before she banned me from buying any more! (and i'm still trying to sort buying/swapping Octane's Universe Dev/sixbuilder).

SWAT van or something like that - I'm only semi interested as he may be a cheap way to pad out my heavily outnumbered Con army when my wife relents on my buying.

Nope, didn't see him. Though I must say he does look very cool...why does Hasbro hate us? :-(

I'm doing Geography, also in my 3rd year. I should be doing reading as well but books bore me to death.

Side note - I want Dropkick and Payload dammit, why can I not find them anywhere

Simon Plumbe, one of the organisers of Auto Assembly, has posted some preliminary information on next year's event at TF@TM, with a full announcement expected within the week.

The date will be either July or August of next year and the venue will be the Clarendon Suites, Birmingham, the same venue that hosted the last two events.

Supercollider, you want to look at this as well!

Sadly in typical Play.com fashion they are pre-orders with a release date they'll keep putting forwards and forwards. nearly all the FAB's they have they are the same (just checked and holy crap they're in stock!!!!), and they're still saying that Cla. Starscream hasn't been released yet.
http://www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadgets/4-/ ... oduct.html
(Play are crap and franky lie when they haven't got stuff in stock, that and they still have much to learn about packaging anything that's not a CD/DVD/Video Game)

ARRRGH Scientist!!! *flees*

Unlucky mate, you'll actually have to do some work. Long live being a lazy bugger :P

Brum is a good place though, got a couple of mates there plus I live locally. My parents also went there, met in Fresher's week and got engaged after a few months - I did the same, only at Nottingham :)

Only 2 days to go for those though...hopefully won't delay them much more. I was considering picking some stuff from play.com but seeing as though they are crap, I might try ebay for the first time. Eeek!

I'd almost be prepared to bet you that on 23rd it will still say pre-order available on 23/11/07 and then a few days later they'll change it to something like Pre-order 16/12/2007.

I might have been a little harsh about play but generally if you compare them to Amazon then they pail in comparison.

Toy/Gadget wise I've bought Cla Cliffjumper & Play Arts FF7: Advent Children Could & Sephiroth from Play and frankly they just throw the boxes into a large jiffy and don't care. The Play Art's boxes arrived undamaged but Cliffjumper's card was heavily battered which I didn't appreciate as I was originally intending to keep him MOSC. They have specific jiffys for DVD's CD's etc so they arrive fine (E.G. Firefly & KoTOR II arrived mint)
anyway If you're aware of play's slapdash attitude to packing stuff you'll be fine.

Ebay's can be more of a risk but has great benefits when you suddenly spot a bargain when the seller clearly doesn't know what they're got and worded their item so no-one would guess it was, say, a lot containing Titanium Soundwave, Classic Voyager Prime & SW:TF Anakin (AOC: jedi starfighter) and you pick them all up for £5.00.

Agreed 100%, another problem is that too many foreign players play in the Premiership, so very few English ones are good enough to be in the national side due to the fact that they don't play as often. Look at Arsenal, I think only 4 of their first team are English (although I could be wrong about that)

Not that I follow football, but I take it our disgrace of a national side failed to do anything of note apart from get overpaid yet again?

I don't really like football (or any sport). I do, however, despise the amount of money that top league players get paid just for kicking a football around when the people who do really necessary jobs, like teaching, get paid so little.

Word to that - my mum was a teacher and she got paid an annual salary that was less than a week's wage for a premier league footballer. Awful stuff
