To the interweb shops! *they have sales right?*

Speaking of sales, I forgot to share my Boxing Day story.

I was on my way to work at M&S and there was a massive crowd of women outside Next.

It was actually an orderly queue.

BUT.

Then they opened the doors and a scream erupted from them... (No kidding, they really did scream.) The line dissolved and they all stampeded for the door.

I never believed the stereotype, but women really ARE scary when it comes to sales.

You have much to learn, that's why I don't go out on Boxing Day, I value my life you see.

My aunt actually tried to drag me to the sales again with her. After a few years ago, I know she is one of those screaming women.

Also Sonray, you are like, repaint king, do we need airbrushes for enamels, or can I risk brush lines? :?

Awww thanks! You have good taste my son :P

Personally i prefer to paint all large pieces like alt mode sections with an airbrush to simply eliminate any chances of brush strokes and to get the best and most durable finish possible which using an airbrush gives you.

Of course you cant use an airbrush on everything as it will create too much over spray and fine detailing small pieces that form the robot mode parts are best hand painted. For these sections i prefer to use enamels as they are much more durable then acrylics. They don't usually leave brush strokes but if you dont have any other choice and have to paint everything by hand then just make sure to always apply thin coats and multiple layers and this should give you a nice and smooth finish with next to no brush strokes.

Thanks! That's very helpful as I have used acrylics, and they are quite shite, but I didn't know anything about how to use enamels, and now I do!

Now to try and find a cheapo airbrush...

Hmm, I know nothing about airbrushs. :? I'm gonna have to look into it, I won't get an absolutly dire one though, I know better than that.

How much does a decent one normally cost? And are they as loud as I hear?

Lol, who told you they was loud? They are about as loud as a mouse blowing through a straw.

You can get some real bargains on ebay, but i wouldn't pay any less than £15 for one. As long as you get something with an adjustable fan attached to the trigger, usually referred to as a "duel action", you should be fine. Dont bother with anything that doesn't have the duel action feature (those are usually the ones that cost £10 or less :P).

Now the compressor is a different story. You can get electric oil less compressors which are ideal and they sound about as loud as a womans vibrator. They aren't usually that expensive, i think theres people on ebay selling both a good brush and the compressor for less then £50.

Fixed! :P

That's not a bad deal at all then, I had no idea how much the compressors cost which was my main concern. Hmmm, I may have to go search ebay...

Thanks again, you are a mine of useful info and disturbing similes!

Hey you edited my funny word out! :P

On a side note the TFW boards are run by idiots. I was just suspended for a week from there for "repetitive name calling" when all i did was call someone an idiot ONCE for not wanting to open their MP Megatron. How is that repetitive name calling? Besides the guy IS an idiot if he is gonna spend all that money on just a box which could have just a brick inside it for all he knows.

I agree too, seems stupid not to open him. But I guess the mods have been quite busy of late...

On a side note, it's also fun to say "shakes fist" irl, it's true, I should do it more.

Well the board has been messed up of late, and some mods I hear have lost their modly powers. And you have seen all the people bitching about the new look and whatnot, they must just get overrun sometimes. I guess....

Im was talking about the TFW boards mate, not these boards :P These boards are run by decent people who actually know how to run a site, unlike the TFW mods who couldn't run a bath. 8-}

The short version, Art Foundation.

Art may be easy, but the work load is massive. And I work too slowly. Who takes 2 days to do 1 A5 drawing? Me...

I do all my artist reseach about now, then draw all day. I will win at this course. Oh yes.

Wow that was a horrible night's sleep.

I'll say the same thing I always say about art. I love the subject, it's tonnes of fun. But in no way, shape or form, would I take any sort of qualification in it.

The work load past GCSE just gets bigger and bigger. I know so many art guys that are 8 hours behind at least; from one night's homework. It is friggin ridiculous, and I salute you Tangent for getting this far.

I woulda blown up the art block by now. nudgenudge :P

On older topics- MP Megatron must be opened and played with. I don't find him as fragile as people say, and you can get some wicked poses outta the bad boy. It's a great piece, and my bro thinks it's got to be tf of the year.

Hippy new year shipmates. Another year, another step closer to being 30 and having to admit that it's time to get a career instead of a job. Party on.
