Yeah, they emailed the info with the confirmation/ticket number.

But it's no cheaper than advance booking it yourself. With their discount it is £65 pp/pn, which includes breakfast. Mine was £51 pp/pn without breaky.

At the moment I've only booked the Sat night, meaning I'll be setting off early Sat morning from Notts. (Prob leave the house about 7am.) I might still add the Fri night at a later date, just not sure yet.

So, £40 for the ticket and £51 (so far) for the hotel. Not looked at train cost yet, but assume it will be £15-£20 ish.

Last year I took about £150 and came home with a bit of change, maybe £20. But that included any food, a few beers and (possibly) train fare. However, I didn't really make any expensive figure purchases. I think the highest single buy was the three RID trainbots for £25 (two with box).

This year I plan on taking as much as I can save before the show!! Hoping for at least double that, maybe a bit more. I'll not necessarily spend it all, just want to have it available in case I see something pricey that take my fancy!

As far as the Sunday is concerned, I think there will be as much happening as the Sat. Things are gonna be split up fairly evenly between the two days, so they say.

Last year I kept myself pretty much to myself bar a few chats with a couple of the dealers. There was enough to keep me there till the end of the day.
However I do regret not revealing myself  to people I know from the boards. (Partly due to me not being great at making conversation with people I don't really know and partly 'cus I was on a bit of a downer at the time!)

Plan to make up for that this year though!

I should hope so.

Yeah, pretty good deal. Two boxed (no insert), all complete and with instructions, except for one missile. (which I already had as it happened!)

Changing the subject slightly.

i think my problem with AA is that i'm not actually geeky myself apart from my love of sci fi and tf's, i don't no how to handle myself around the stereotypical geek as i don't know any (sorry if this doesnt make sense)

the lack of ODBers goin also doesnt help, i've noticed pretty much every one over at tfw2005 is going

 You act as though geeks are a different species or something!

And I hate to brake it to you, but 'love of sci fi and tf's is more than enough for you to be considered a geek by a lot of people!!

You might get away with it as long as you know nothing about computers/websites and don't post in forums..... Oh wait..

I'm sure there will be a few going in the end. Plus it's not quantity that matters! :D

There will be a brief upsurge in the user base, but nothing lasting. Those who wanted to return to the fandom will have already been drawn in by the first movie.

Those brought in by movie two will only be those riding the temporary wave of euphoria. They will quickly disappear back into the cesspool they crawled out of.

Well, there are signs at the borders of some cities with the name of the city and last recorded population. There are parodies of those signs that go something like this:

WELCOME TO DENIAL! POPULATION: YOU!

That's just the thing, stereotypes don't work for the fact that you can't make generalizations about an entire demographic. Geeks, like all people, come in all kinds of shapes and sizes.

People love to stereotype and categorize but it just doesn't work. There are extreme hardcore geeks like me, and then there are passive? geeks, I suppose the kind of geek that you are, or consider yourself.

Judging yourself however, is not an easy thing to do because that's where most of your bias is going to be directed. The Electron that Electron sees might be a cool regular guy who has a few special interests, but the Electron the rest of the world sees might be completely different. So to characterize one person as a geek is in itself, entirely subjective.

Gawd, I love to talk.

It's good to talk.
