The last time I was in Chatham, they only had FOC Soundwave and Grimlocks, no deluxes. The only Generations deluxes they had were the IDW ones.

My FoC Magnus, Screamer and sideswipe just turned up from Toys r Us online ( I grew impatient with not finding them in the shop...) still after air raid and Kickback so I will be haunting Toys r Us until they are mine!
Wasp-shot23 wrote:I wouldn't say they're more expensive... Most TRUs in the US charge $14.99 for deluxes!

£9.50 and we're not getting the comic either. So...?

I don't get what you mean... Exchange rate doesn't apply to toys, they're marked up at a standard price point, 12.99 be that pounds or dollars. It's the same equivalent cost to an American or a Briton.

Exchange rate does apply to toys surely? $14.99 is about £9.44, while the RRP for a deluxe class figure in the UK is £12.99. So we Brit's pay more.

Well, yes exchange rates apply to anything, but that's not a factor on how things are priced in separate countries. If you want to go all the way to America to use cheaper dollars to make a saving, be my guest, but equivalent cost is the same worldwide. Each person in each country pays 12.99 of their currency to buy a deluxe where it is that price. If exchange rate made a difference to overseas prices, where do you have the reference point? Is the UK the standard, making figures comparatively cheaper when in dollars, or is it the other way around? This is why price points on items like toys are standard, because they're globally distributed things. It's not like the price of corn or petrol or wine. It's a futile argument to say something is cheaper in another country with a whole different currency, you can't really compare these things so arbitrarily.
