Interestingly, I got Airdancer today and I think the set is pretty nice. There are definitely not enough paint apps but the chrome is decent, and they have done an excellent job of homaging the original. I have a loose hip on one of mine too. But then I have the same problem with my Perfect Effect Rewind. I think that the 2 cassette combiners have been done pretty well, but I do agree about Ramhorn etc.

Ugly Megatron with a nicer sword by Dr. Wu.

FoC Grimlock got upgraded with the Zenith Forge kit just in time for Christmas

Also, freaking fragile Motobot RC got broken at the wrist and God knows how. I was (miraculously) able to fix it with a little superglue and kept the articulation functional.

Fortis came in the mail today! My quick review; Fun to play with, not to eat.

Also I got what I thought was Unique toys Sharp Claw last week but what I actually got was this

No robot. Just doubles of the accessories. 2 abdomens, 2 skirt armors, a War Lord head, a giant pair of wings, 2 cannons, 3 small swords, 2 big swords, 2 what I think are lion tails and 0 robots.

Finally added a 'Cosmos' to my Neo-Classics collection, of course Im talking about the rather wonderful iGear MW-04 UFO!

Hes a nice little figure which I have been keen to gain as my Cosmos for quite some time, so was pleased to see him appear on Ebay.co.uk and snagged him for £19 delivered! :grin:

This is one exception I can make to my (fairly) strict scale buying guide, as he falls into my Scale-free category.
Voyager for lorry, tank, plane; Deluxe for car, van, 4x4; Anything 'Cybertronian' = Scale-free!

Of course if Hasbro or another 3P where to make a Deluxe or Voyager sized 'Cosmos' then I would update to a bigger 'bot!

He is a great little guy. I like how awkward his robot mode is, as it fits the character so well. Always wondered if that was intentional or crappy engineering that just worked out :-?

Anyway, my PoL arrived a few days ago, and due to working long hours it was a while before I could play! Spent yesterday afternoon doing that which is why I'm only posting now

I also just got a PoL in, containing many of the same items:

PE-DX03 - Warden
KFC Mugen Scope

So far I have only opened Warden & Mugen.

Warden is amazing fun! I'm choosing 1 mode per day, including fan modes, and he gets to stay in that mode for the day.
I'd give him a 9/10. PE really have taken the partsformer to a new level.

Mugen is OK. Love the bot mode & the slightly off colors don't bug me too much.
The weak connector for the scope, crummy plastic and the EXTREME difficulty transforming the head, which should be a simple flip joint, really detract from an otherwise really decent figure.

I'll give him a 7/10. Pretty amazing articulation in bot mode makes up for a lot of my gripes, so he's replacing HasTak Perceptor on the shelf, but there is a lot of room for improvement.

I'll probably open one item per day from my PoL for a while, including non 3P stuff, so I'll drop more as I open them.

I have since opened the rest of that haul, and just thought I'd post a few comments on each.

TW-T03 Trace:
Nice! I've been happy with all of these guys so far. I'm not 100% in love with all the choices for vehicle modes, but they are all great figures.
Every TW figure I get I just look at it and ask, why can't Hasbro be doing this? The transforms are great. Intuitive, solid construction, great sculpts. One complaint, the feet on this guy are a bit weird, but overall a really, really nice figure.

R-05 Fortis:
If you have Bovis, he's the same. He's just as great, can't wait for the others. 'Nuff said.

Causality CA-13 Diesel and M3 Crossfire Set:
Meh. I remain as uninspired by this set as I was during all the build up. I have a Menasor now, it looks nice, but it just doesn't wow me in any way at all. Hopefully one of the other 3p's (my preference is for TFC) will get on a Stunticon set so I can replace him.

Function X-03 - Smart Robin:
As uninspired as I was by the M3 Crossfire set, this is the exact opposite. That has been my experience with all 3 of the FP headmasters. I only had moderate expectations, but have been blown away!!! Amazing, yet simple transform, looks stellar in both modes, tons of posability. WOW, pretty much says it all. Love it. The transforms on the body & wings are just beautiful. These guys have sold me on the rest of their Headmasters. I also have the TW Brainstorm, and while the TW head has the better combined mode face and articulation on the mini figure, in every other way Smart Robin just crushes it.

Not one but two+ new additions to my growing 3rd Party haul!

Planet X totally nailed it with their take on FoC Swoop aka Caelus, such a nice figure, great scaling, deco and some cool weapons.
A very nice figure which will look sweet alongside my Generations FoC Grimlock!

Whilst looking through my list of G1 screened characters and the best figures available which could be their Classics modern interpretation, I came across a fairly obscure character who managed to gain a 3rd Party figure...
Impossible Toys Deluxe Nightbird!

This cheeky little bot fits right in with the other Classics Deluxe figures perfectly.
Got her for a great price too, so cant complain. I also snagged one each of Impossible Toys Spike and Sparkplug mini-figures, but kinda feel these guys are just a liitle too small? :-?

Gots me the transforming Metroplex gun. (Interceptor or something? Meh.) It's quite fantastic. Plastic quality is comparable to the Hasbro original. Colors are just a slight shade darker, but it blends well enough that you start to ignore it and see it as one and the same. Transformation is super easy and works well. Looks good with Scamper controlling the cannon platform mode. (Tank mode's probably my favorite, however.)

My only real complaint, and it's a big one, is that you have to literally destroy the box to get the instructions. They printed them on the inside of the box and there are pull tabs/strips to show you where to rip the box open to obtain said instructions. (WHY?! So stupid.)

As for the price...is it worth it? I guess so. I'd have liked it to be a bit cheaper, but it's certainly cheaper than buying another Metroplex, or importing the Japanese version. Plus, it's less than $50.00, which is shocking in the 3rd party world.

When I'm wrong, I admit it. I was wrong about Metroplex not needing two red guns. Oh, how wrong I was. He looks GREAT with both in hand, looks like he's about to hand someone their ass, on a massive scale.

I'd be interested in the white version, but the price is too much. It's like $10.00 more for white, instead of red, plastic. No thanks. It would make for a nice Slammer, though. Transform it into tank mode, or tower mode, or...well you can see where I'm going with this.

Still, glad I chose the red one. Price aside, the red gun just looks amazing in his hands. One problem, which doesn't affect me personally, but I know some would be bothered... The gun will not attach to the leg in "battleship" (or whatever they call it) mode, like the Hasbro version will. (The Takara Tomy version does this to make it G1-ish as possible.) The posts that would connect it to the leg are just a hair too wide and it won't lock in place. (This is due to how it transforms.)

If you can spare the dough, and you have Metroplex, it's definitely worth looking into, at least. If you absolutely can spare the dough, I say go for it. It's a really nice piece.

Would you recommend it then? I'm thinking of getting the white version so that when one of my 3 Metroplexes is repainted into Metrotitan I can give the red gun to another Plex and use it as his white gun.

Honestly? Yeah. It's hard to justify $43.00 for a hunk of red plastic, $50-53.00 for a hunk of white plastic, but it is well made, it transforms, it integrates with Metroplex, and someone in your situation (multiple Titan figures for various reasons including repainting) can justify it. Heck, most people could. The price isn't unreasonable. I mean, this thing is huge, and it has more moving parts and features compared to the Hasbro original.

Yeah, I'd recommend it. I certainly don't regret it.

Hes a cool little figure, and being honest, I wouldnt mind seeing someone take on Cosmos again but in a larger scale, if possible?
Being an alien mass shifting Transformer, I can get behind the size iGear created UFO in, but I feel that said, a large deluxe would be very nice indeed!

QC wise, I managed to snap the little clear peg which is used to hold/display UFO on when in alt mode, so mine will remain in bot mode, as do all my Classics!

Ahh that's a shame, I must be one of the few that got a decent stand! I still use my stand in bot mode to give him the appearance of hovering, I also recommend finding a green lightsaber for him to hold, makes him look the dogs!
