they made him into an mp3 player and that is awsome! and got rumble and frenzy headphones ill also be getting animated sw just for lazerbeak guitar but they could make him into tiny little sd card i was also toying with the idea of kitbashing some speakers into squalktalk and beastbox and squalkbox

other alt modes?:
computer with acsessorys,
mobilphone/ blackberry?

I agree with others that Soundwave needs to be updated to something, and I think a communications vehicle is the way forward.

Nice vehicle mode but the robot mode is ugly.

I'm glad they didn't use that design. That would have been a pretty boring Soundwave. What even makes that design resemble "Soundwave", other than speakers in the trunk?

Looks nifty but these drawings always look better than the finished item. Mind you, Soundwave IS cool and I would buy it.

it's rather meh to me. But, that's because I am not too hot on cars anyway. otherwise, interesting design.

I see it now. The alt mode reminds me of Movie Stockade's alt mode. The redesign looks workable and practical.

I would peg this more for Alternators than Classics.
It's a nice design if you wanted to make Soundwave into a car.

I don't think it's Alternators, Alternators was all about real licensed cars, and that SUV looks like it's made up.

Actually if you look hard enough you'll find that they still do make cassette players. Granted, most of them play disks and only play cassettes as a secondary feature but nevertheless they still have the tape deck door that most of us find crucial to the Soundwave design.

Bold, italicized and enlarged to underscore my point: they're not commonplace anymore. Used to be just about anyplace you go someone's got a double-deck boom box; nowadays you have better access to a museum with dinosaur skeletons in it than you do a working tape deck. In fact, I haven't been to a single music store lately that has an abundance of cassettes; they're all going electronic now.

As for the whole 'big door on the chest' angle...well, duh. Why do you suppose the van alt-mode was probably brought up to begin with?
