Eh, even though they only lasted a few seconds each, the constant calls of 'Maximise! Terrorise!' followed by identical, too-expensive-to-animate-more-than-once transformations in early Beast Wars eps got old fast.

As for US G1, the only really obvious stock transformation I remember is Prime's three-quarter perspective one, which got used at least once every other episode. As soon as we got into the Japanese G1 series though, it's stock transformations everywhere. (Probably the best self-referential joke I've seen in a Japanese TF series is the scene in Headmasters where Rodimus doesn't wait for Predaking to finish his combination sequence, but stunt-jumps up a hill and crashes through the middle of the team while the anime lines background is still running! :lol:

I can't understand why anyone can say that the animation is crap.
It's fluid, smooth and perfect hand drawn cel animation.
I can understand the design style being disliked, but the animation itself is flawless!

I agree that today's cartoons are better animated, but NOT better designed. Half of the fun of G1 is all the boo boos.

YES. Except I actually prefer this one to season 3, but aside from that, yes. From the opening few beats of the theme I was instantly grabbed at how quickly it conjured up the old G1 opening without drowning it in crappy 'teen music' stereotypes. Just a good, honest hero theme.

The animation looks like a TF version of Teen Titans. AND, they DID IT AGAIN! The whole, disappearing trailer thing of Optimus Prime. XD WTF does that trailer go? Oh, and did Bumblebee get kicked in the robot gonads or something? His voice hurts my ears!! Atleast Starscream sounds way more acceptable than BB does. (im not bad mouthing! Just observing. lol)

I've been telling EVERYONE how freakin' bad ass this show is gonna be. And yet, everyone EVERYONE hated...but I had faith and this show is gonna be freakin' awesome! Great addition to back up the movie.

Well the animation is good. And plus, I was one who liked Teen Titans. Still too early to tell for me though. But I'm sure my tolerance for Teen Titans will eventually override any jives I have against the TF animation.

To me this makes perfect sense. The movie (sorta) revolutionized the concept of Transformers in the real here and now. And this cartoon has taken the idea of strange robot aliens and completely gone a different, but fun direction than the movie.

It works. At least in my mind. They tried it as Anime, and it got mixed results (Armada). They tried it as a mix of Anime and CGI (Energon & Cybertron). Now it's time to try it as Animated series style. If this version tanks, the only way to go is....back to Mainframe and use G1 designs. Classics cartoon anyone?

Animated will rock your face off, trust me. Have faith, friends!

agreed... while the promo poster looks crapy im holding all judgement till i see the first few eps. the gi arcee and grimlock sold me (Plus prime waving an ax through have the preview doesnt hurt)
