So HFTD & Generations are essentially merging into yellow-packaged RTS, because both styles of figures are being released under it. Otherwise, you could say Turbo Tracks & Jazz are Moviverse if you base it on the packaging, but they're clearly not. So from that viewpoint, Lugnut could go either way.

They're phasing out Generations packaging? Where and when was this said?

I forget when/what site posted it first, but here's a story on tformers (first thing that came up in google, apologies if I'm not supposed to be posting links to other sites): http://tformers.com/transformers-reveal-the-shield-deluxe-wave-1-jazz-fallback-tracks-mindset-in-package/14412/news.html

Hmm. I'm not sure what to think at this point, then.

I thought Generations and RTS were going to run side by side. I see now that that's not the case.

Yes, the underslung cannon can still be done with the proper transformation. Also, moving those shoulders up allows for enough room for Lugnut to fire the cannon over his back.

Very cool figure. I wonder if we'll see more Animated homages soon. There are definitely a lot of amazing designs in Animated that would look great in a more "realistic" aesthetic as well.
Speaking of Animated designs, last time I checked, Animated Sky-Byte was supposed to look like a remolded Lugnut, that could be a pretty cool remold to see.

I may be one of the very few (if not the only) person who doesn't really care for this figure. With newer (i.e. non-G1) characters, I like alt-modes that are more realistic, which is one of the things that drew me back to Transformers as an adult, when the 1st movie came out. This looks too cartoonish/animated, and I'm not a fan of Animated, really.

I feel much the same way. The movie brought me back in 07. I hadn't had a transformer since G2 toys were on the shelves. And I very much like seeing Mustangs, F22's, and Peterbuilt trucks turn into these characters. Because when I'm out and I see one, I feel like hey... it could be... it could be.

At the same time, I'm actually selecting individual molds out of the Generations line so far that I like. The WFC molds especially, and Drift to compliment those. And I continue to look at each new mold to see if it'll fit what I'm trying to do. But this one does not fit, mostly for the reasons you listed.

Now Tracks... quite possibly.

Nice of Peaugh to confirm what's in Lugnut's tail wing - I was initially thinking it would be his hammer, but an irremovable missle launcher? Ah well, I like it lots anyways. Really wasn't expecting the extendable punch gimmick, that one's awesome.

I'll get the Takara version, what with being shinier, having a broader colour palette and whatnot.

I do, plus I like to wait till the figures are out in stores before I watch reviews. I'm just saying I don't get why Peaugh is the Michael Jordan of youtube Transformer reviewers.

Because he usually has the first look at a fig, his camera picture is clear, and his reviews are straight to the point for the most part. He doesn't spend 5+ minutes telling you what color every last part is (which you can easily see in pictures) or rotate every single joint saying 360 degrees, 360 degrees, 360 degrees (man, that's annoying!) Sure, there are a few guys out there that are more entertaining, but when I watch a review it's not to be entertained. I just want info on a figure...and Peaugh typically does the best job of providing that, and first to boot.

As for this fig, I agree...I'm not really sure what to do with it. Doesn't really fit with anything other than maybe movie, non screen figs which I don't really have shelf space for anymore.

He does pretty good for getting figures sans box and instructions. Having to figure out proper transformations, He does better than the first pics we saw.

Woah everybody, I in no way wanted to incite any debate about Peaugh as a reviewer, just to point out something that might have done differently. It just happened to remind me of the 'Swindle doesn't roll' issue and made me chuckle. Peaugh obviously does his upmost make getting reviews of new TFs to his subscribers his main priority, hence the lack of cutting/reshooting - and he does remarkably well considering the lack of editing, I might add! I'm not so keen on the promotion of stolen toy sales, but that's another matter...

EDIT: I forgot to add, I am so with Kibble on the guys who demonstrate EVERY point of articulation and waste time telling you what colour something is when you, the viewer, can see it. Because it's a video. And we have eyes. And that's how vision works.

Not really...Generations as the name of the line is being phased out after the current wave. The next wave with Jazz & Tracks is going to be called "Reveal The Shield" and packaged with yellow cards instead of red, while the current non-deluxe figures will continue on in similar packaging but dropping the "Hunt for the Decepticons" tagline. I believe they may also be using the "Reveal The Shield" tagline, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Basically, he's Generations if you want him to be.

Yeah that's what I kept telling people! I keep getting told that Generations and Reveal the Shield will run side-by-side until the Dark of the Moon toyline. That makes no sense because we would have two comparable classic toylines at the same time but with different packaging.

I agree with both of you. I think I'll actually pick up Tracks and (when he's released) Wheeljack... although their alt modes don't look super-realistic (like BB's Camaro mode) from the pictures I've seen, I have a soft spot for G1 characters. Which is also why I'll be picking up characters like Fallback, for instance. Though he's *just* a recolor of Brawn, so was G1 Outback, who he's homaging. I like to display my old G1 'bots next to their newer counterparts.

And quickly back on subject, that's why I won't be picking up Lugnut. Never watched Animated, and have no connection to the character.
