Do you collect other toys besides Transformers? Maybe you've got a Masters of the Universe collection you'd like to show off, or maybe you like Thundercats, Voltron, G.I.Joe, Power Rangers, Star Wars, Wrestling, or any of the various comic book toy lines. Please keep the discussions here to non-Transformers toy lines.

Gotta admit, I've heard mixed reports about the QC on some if the other combos, but Tajadol is just majestic. I only wish it came with some wings, rather than having them be in an effect parts set that tends to go for ridiculous prices...

Ain't that always the case. Coming with the Ludicrous Powers rather than needing to buy 3 extra figures is part of why I loved the Season Tsuu Akibarangers.

Sucks about that effect part set, I remember passing on it at a convention a while back for a good price because I didn't have the Tajador Figuarts... Stupid, stupid me...
I got a friend who has Ratoratah/Lartoratar/Whatever random romanization you want to insert here, I reviewed it over on my youtube channel ages ago, from what I recall it was pretty solid, I think it was mostly Tatoba that had the serious problems.

I think we all have "the one that got away" so to speak, I can think of a few...
Yeah, I thhink it's mainly a case of some of the bigger reviewers and so on getting bad apples, and it seeming like there was a widespread QC issue.
My only other figuarts to compare to (as yet, still wishing for the Gaim figures to approach a reasonable price...) are some of the 555/Faiz figures, and I must admit that they do have a couple of improvements made, notably in the hips and having die-cast feet for stability. It's not that significant a difference though.

nice to see a plagueis figure, but what source material is he based on? because i've got the novel that bears his name, and there's no mention of a staff saber anywhere.

They're called "Self Loading Robots Auto-Chargeables" I don't know why. Found them at the dollar store for $3 for a pack of 3. Fun little dudes.
Just reviewed them on Twitter.

You know, I wasn't entirely sure myself.

The Wookiepedia page shows several illustrations of him wielding the staff, but I can't seem to find where it cites any source. Maybe just concept art?
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_PlagueisAh, wait, here it is!
Although strictly non-canon, the image of Plagueis in Tag & Bink appears to have inspired the design of his miniature in Star Wars Miniatures: Jedi Academy. The weapon and pose exhibited in Plagueis' miniature (and the accompanying card illustration) exactly match those in the comic image. Plagueis' appearance as a miniature in the Jedi Academy set marks his first representation in toy form.

I saw those the other day at Dollarama.
So the quality is decent enough? Does the plastic feel decent or pretty cheap? Thought they may be good for repainting if the material is good to work with.

Well, the torso and feet feel like ABS plastic, but the arms, shins, thighs, and head feel softer, like PVC. The weapons they come with also feel like ABS. They feel like decent figures. The softer plastic doesn't bend easily. The rigid plastic torso, weapons, and feet are hollow and have no give to them at all, so they're pretty solid. Other than the paint and the mold flash, they're surprisingly good quality for dollar store toys.

I haven't messed with my Glyos collection in a while. It felt good popping parts off and reconfiguring them. However, this thing that I made reminds me of those insane WWII experiments where they wanted to put a dog's head on a robot body.
This was from a review of the Stealth Buildman MKII, which looks nothing like the picture below!

I found this little wooden mannequin in a box in my room. It's one of those artist's aids for figuring out proportions and such. Decided to take a picture of it with only the light of my laptop on it, then edited the picture to make it look more grainy. The results are terrifying. Then I made a movie poster out of it!
