Alternator - American Version - all plastic

Binaltech - Japanese Version - Die-Cast Metal parts

K.O. version - Knock-off version - Chinese Version - all plastic, poorer quality than alternator

The Binaltech's are much nicer, the paint apps and bodies look great. Some of the figures are only available as Alternators though so you'll have to pick an choose.

Well, right on the first too. The Chinese Figures are made with the same diecast panels as the Japanese figures. The thing is, the Binaltech figures don't include 100% diecast body panels either. Obviously any panels that include windows will be made of plastic and painted just like the American versions.

As for display purposes, the Alts tend to to stand a little better on their feet since the plastic makes the figure considerably lighter than the BT counterparts.

As for Packaging... you'll know because the boxes will read "Alternators" [Blue, Red or White boxes] or "Binaltech" [black on Grey boxes] or "Metals Transform" [typically black on grey also though some come packaged in bot mode].

Well, if you're just going from store to store odds are you won't find the Binaltech figures. For the money though, you're just as well with the Alts. Though some of the older ones are going for a high asking price now.

you wont see a binaltech in retail stores such as traget or wal mart. binaltechs are only in japan. chances are that if you do see one, it'll be in a specialty shop like a anime store. however, if you do choose to go with binaltech they are a bit pricy, as mentioned above, and despite having better looking paint jobs, the paint can scratch off easily in the die cast metal parts. personally, id go with alts if youre gonna open em up and transform em a bit....plus theyre cheaper. but if you're looking for a show piece that you're gonna keep in the package, binaltechs look really classy. i hope i was any help.
