Mmmkay. So... you probably already know at this point, but the BM toys are... a little off. Most of them either don't match their show models, or are wildly out of scale. Don't get me wrong, there's some great toys, but there's obsticals to overcome.

Takara tried to make the best of it though. They didn't release any toys until long after it had run its full course here. They put the show on TV in Japan as "Beast Wars Returns", and only released toys of show characters in premium deco's and as ToysRus exclusives. Thanks to that, they're very hard to track down now (speaking from experience).

Anyways, Megahead Megatron. He was never actually released under the "Beast Machines" banner! But rather a little while later in the RID line, in not quite accurate colors, and called Megabolt (iirc).

TLDR Takara released him in pretty colors later.

Holy $h1rt! That Takara Megahead Megz looks perfect for colors (that's Takara's thang!). And yeah, I found it odd that the Grand Mal was a RiD figure. >_<

That Takara Megahead is rare? Is it going for G1 Bludgeon prices.....or Victory Japan-only releases kinda rare prices?

Not sure what HM prices are like, but the BWR figures on eBay are usually listed between 200-300 a piece and are listings are rare. Which is nuts because it's not terribly old or renowned.

Ahhhh Toysnmission.... I spent a lot of time staring at that page with a full cart of their BWR figures. Something about it though... they're so expensive, and for some reason I just don't trust it. I eventually found all the ones I wanted through other means and for much better prices. It just took a LOT of patience.

I liked the return of Silverbolt -- he had changed, but I'm glad he didn't go the Tankor way. I liked the new Vehicon Generals as well; they fooled me with their limited vocabulary.

I had never run across the toysnmission site before, but he certainly procures rarities, oddities, etc. I think the most tempting thing he had for a decent price were the Transformer Hats!

They're in the same vein as those Nike Free Megatron & Optimus figures (I own the latter -- it's almost as cool as Prime transforming into a Playstation. But I'd love to have that MegaDrive Megatron most!).

Nice! So we can talk about Rhinox now.
Nothing was ever stated officially that Rhinox's spark was tampered with, so many people can't accept his turn to the dark side. But I think it's pretty safe to assume, that the brand new body Megatron provided had specific programming to lead him in one direction. If programming can dictate how a bot acts regardless of Spark (which we see as the three generals initially appear to be completely different characters), then his turn makes sense to me. We already saw in BW, given a tweak, Rhinox goes real dark real fast. And his time in Megatron's clutches, and as Tankor, HAD to have had some effect on him. So I find his character change in BM to fit just fine.

I liked the return of Silverbolt -- he had changed, but I'm glad he didn't go the Tankor way. I liked the new Vehicon Generals as well; they fooled me with their limited vocabulary.

I'm torn by Silverbolt. He was a little too emo for my liking, and Jetstorm was my favorite character in the show hands down. But ultimately I'm alright with 'Bolt. That episode though, Megatron gives a spectacular performance with his point of view speech. It shows, that even insane, he BELIEVES in everything he says, and that it's whats RIGHT. That is some grade A megalomania right there

And yeah... Transformer hats and shoes... and gaming consoles
They're certainly neat, but not my cup of tea. If they made a NES or SNES though...

Good point, Shaj -- being manipulated and basically pre-programmed by Megatron to perform his part in the masterplan to get Vector Sigma affected his outlook. I feel the only reason Silverbolt is handling it differently was due to being reformatted from Jetstorm.

And yes, Jetstorm was fantastic! His one-liners and cockiness made him a lot of fun -- I thought it was cool he was in fact Silverbolt. And Waspinator was reborn as the "badboy" Thrust.

I feel the only reason Silverbolt is handling it differently was due to being reformatted from Jetstorm.

And see, I always thought that his new moody demeanor stemmed from the fact that he remained in the Jetstorm body. Reformatted sure, but still technically in a Megatron created body. No wonder he's kind of a jerk now

I thought it was a hilarious twist to make Thrust Waspinator. Still I don't think I ever found a clear answer as to HOW he physically ended up on Cybertron. His explanation in the show didn't really explain anything

Yeah, traveling a "long time" doesn't explain a thing about how Waspinator got back to Cybertron -- at all. It was most likely some epic space odyssey that has yet to be told.

All we know is, Waspinator is granted his badboy incarnation: biker-bot.

Thrustinator looks pretty cool! Did the TFCC ever do a merged Megatron/Ratchet figure? Similar type of bot, there.

I finished BEAST MACHINES, and am now caught up on the TF Beast saga (that aired in the States at least!).

It's bittersweet, now that I've gotten to know and love all the characters as many others already do -- I enjoyed the G1-ish feel of Beast Wars and the darker turn Beast Machines took.

I can understand why some might've been turned off by the desperate mood of the latter, especially after the many light-hearted moments that BW had. But it's in Beast Machines that Megatron truly felt like an unstoppable force, that was as brilliant as he was diabolical.

YESSS

As much as I grew to enjoy Megatron's beast modes, it's his Beast Machines incarnations that fit him best -- so thanks to Shaj, I have Takara's Beast Wars Returns BR-12 Mega Head Megatron on the way!

Heinrad also arrived today. And although I do not have any current plans to pick-up Thrustinator, I was also thinking he might have helped Waspinator get back to Cybertron...

When Power of the Primes was announced we knew of at least two Autobots guaranteed to appear.

G1

And for the most part, they do not disappoint for being figures that not only look like their G1 animated counterparts, but also include a cool 'evolution' from punkbot to Prime.

Of the two, Rodimus is the overall better toy; but if you do not already own a Leader-scale Optimus, he will satisfy that itch.

I'm so happy. you liked Beast Machines, liked Megahead, and so much so to hunt down the most accurate BWR version. One after my own heart

It's all thanks to you I picked up Rodimus, and I'm so glad -- I've posed and pictured him in so many more photos than Optimus, who I originally only planned on buying from wave1.

But as Cobo and many others have said, he's a great representation of the G1 movie Rodimus Prime -- we finally got a figure worthy in size and stature.

Also, I can't wait to receive Beast Machines Mega Head Megatron! After seeing the Beast Wars Returns colors, I had to have that version -- thanks again, buddy. I can't wait to take pics.

With Heinrad, I could tell the previous owner might have transformed the figure a very few times but primarily kept him boxed/displayed; I just can't. Every bot I buy must be trthe ansformed, posed and pictured! And then some. But I am glad the previous owner had kept him in such great shape.

I love transforming them too much to keep 'em in boxes -- but I have started keeping the boxes.

It's always nice to get pre-owned stuff in good shape. There's only been a handful of times that I got something pre-owned in poor shape actually.

Bit of advice, if you're gonna keep the boxes then empty out the guts and flatten them out. I do that with all my domestics, but am thinking of doing the same with the imports. They take up SOOOOO much space
