That lines right up with the first iteration of the Microman reboot. I think Microman Magna Powers hit late 98. For sure 99. So if it was abandoned from Microman it was during development of the first wave of the reboot.
Now I wish we were neighbors Bod. You have the tank, I have the Micromans. We could solve this mystery like a crime fighting team of super hero toy dork man children!
So speaking of Tako Tank, here is how it figures in my collection for now: as a cell from the actual show. I have an image below of a shot of Lio Convoy Junior (Beast Wars Prowl) which I took of both sides of the cell to show you that the way its done is they paint it from the other side. Of course that means they have to plan the crap out of each shot and so each cell also comes with a sketch (I showed some below, including Tako Tank's).
A collector had a super well curated collection of great shots from the show but was moving on and wanted to sell them all at once, so I bought all 56!

That's a pretty nice haul WJ!! I've always wanted some cells like that, just not sure where I'd hang them. I guess if I got ones I really wanted I'd make space.

Wow, 56...! That's a whole lotta love. Thank you for sharing, Will (more please!).
Sure thing!
So, as you will see, with 27 frames per second these are not entirely unique. I have two shots of the magnaboss crew and they differ ever so slight (just the slight turn of a hand). Other shots are more unique and the only thing that changes is the mouth. I have a double cell where the mouth is added.
What I like about these is I can have art of the toys that I adore and which we never saw on the Hasbro Beast Wars show. Plus we get shots of G2 Megatron (well a different character, but looks the same) as well as Gigastorm. Enjoy!

Thats great, since he happens to be one of the more accessible figures. Good luck on this new rabbit hole!
I'm not gonna even start until I have collected all the regular Beast Wars guys I want to find. I still (more trying to space them out at this point, no rush) need to find a TM Rattrap and Cheetor, original Depthcharge and Rampage, regular Inferno and Quickstrike, and most likely Legends Blackarachnia. Oh and PotP Primal, MP Dinobot, and the eventual (and maybe the TM1 version) of Megatron.
I'm looking for parts, Help Me Out Please! Wanna talk? Or Rollerblade? Click below and head on over to the D-Max Den!!
Thank you for those pics, Will! I'm about halfway through Beast Wars II, and can't wait to watch Neo. The art looks great, and at least we saw some of these characters see domestic releases (making some of them cheaper!).
I did the same thing on my Hunt -- prioritized the domestic releases. You should even be able to find some of them MOSC for ~$30! I would recommend mandarake for your hunts! Good luck D-Max -- I can't wait to see your pics!
Prowl had originally planned on Slash "defecting" to the Destrons. But thanks to Bludgeon, he became defunct before he could share his covert op plans with Magmatron & the Cybertrons.

Sent by Longrack, the Wreckers locate Black Zarak's base thanks to the tracker Prowl had installed in Slash, unaware she was only pretending to be a 'Con.
In fact, after being contacted by Shockwave on the whereabouts of Alpha Trion & Vector Sigma, Zarak rips through the sky towards Sector G1-85.

On the way, he makes a stop to resurrect an old foe, and corrupts him with the power of the Dead Matrix.

Back at Zarak's base, the Wreckers are greeted by Bludgeon, BB....and a dino-femme fatale with a familiar energy signature.

She says her name is Slash.

Springer is confused by the fact that the tracker's signal was coming from BB...but then Black Zarak assumes direct control of Slash and attacks!

I'm on episode 29 of Beast Wars II now -- I'm trying to balance it with taking pics and Xenoblade Chronicles X, but still going! Afterall, I gotta see Neo.
I was surprised by one of the best bot-bod upgrades ever: Megastorm to GIGASTORM-sama! Seriously though, to go from G2 Megatron to Trypticon with better hair? Wow.

***EDIT On my lunch break, I stopped by the comics shop and then spent 20 minutes at my fave flea market. I was $25 poorer shortly thereafter -- I had to buy Rampage & Scuba
