They weren't Hasbro but they were licensed to that specific company to be made. The little loops are very easily removed if they bug ya. Here's BB fpr example.

You'll have to scroll down a bit to variations. TFU won't let me link directly to pictures like I normally could.
The cartoon faced version of him was only released in the Takara collection with the other mini-bots.

All I have is a dead link, please repost. You do have to cut off the ring though right. It doesnt detach or anything.

That would make it better, if the piece detached for those who didnt want it.

First of all, I did NOT pay $150 for my Takara minibot set or even HALF that amount.
If you keep looking eventually you'll find one at a decent price, I did.

On ebay right now there's 3 auctions at $69, $75 and $79, and with several days to go. There's also one at the 'buy it now' price of $189. That's it. You're also talking about shipping of around $20 on any of those.

If you bought early, you probably got a much better deal. Current prices are too inflated for my tastes, and it's a lot of stress trying to find one that'll slip by unnoticed by other bidders.

Its true, that particular box set is on fire. I dont think it will ever go down in price, similiar to the Prime box which easily fetches $200 to $350 everytime.

Maybe if they reissued the set again through the encore series, the high bids might stifle a little, but with all the prime reissues floating around, The Takara Coll. one still always bids out high.

I can't remember the exact price I paid now but I'm almost sure it was less than $50, which is decent.
