G2 in the UK?
- Motto: "Motto? I don't know, probably something about molecular structure..."

Wow. I've just discovered that the postage costs from US to UK on bigbadtoystore are more than the rpices of the figures I want, so this thread is now serving a new purpose: does anyone know a website that sells G2 toys in the UK? or that at least cheap postage from the states? thanks.

By the way, has anyone noticed how much Movie Optimus looks like G2 Optimus...?

I have Hooligan. The Cyberjets are great, and wish I'd gotten them all as a kid. As a whole, I love G2. Beware the fugly early 90's color mixes on many figures if that bothers you. BTW, since most are just recolored G1 molds, expect G1 quality.

These figs were great and put the quality to the G1 toys to shame. Well at least the good G2 figs. The cyberjets are great I repainted mine ito the original seekers. Laser Prime is also very good you should consider getting him I love his big sword

Re: G2- opinions?
I love G2! They were my first Transformers.
If you're going for G2 figures, make sure you get Laser Optimus Prime and Megatron. And of course, how could you not love a tie-dye Bruticus? If you like G1 Optimus, then grab up his G2 counterpart. With his speaker box & missile launchers, you'll see where the idea for Hybrid Style G1 Black Convoy came from. G2 Starscream is a must for those Starscream lovers.
Ummm.... That's it for me.

Hasbro needs to bring back it's Commemorative Series with a line of G2 reissues, there's a ton of G2 molds I want but don't have.

Re: G2- opinions?
I'll echo the sentiment on the cyberjets! And Laser Prime!
I like the odd colors. Sure, they're kinda forgetting the 'Disguise' part of the Robots in Disguise, but to me the bright colors are more interesting than everyone looking the same.

I always wanted those four that were hotrods and had the clear light up swords, I think the were called "Laser Rods" or some thing - I'd buy them in a heartbeat if they are given a reissue.
And Clench, always wanted a Clench.

Laser Optimus Prime and the rest of the Laser Rods/Cycles are worth every dollar. Laser Prime in my eyes is the very best Prime ever produced (except maybe the MP Prime). Get it, if you can (as I know, that figure was reissued in Japan).
As for the rest of G2, I recommend Megatron, Stalker and Dreadwing/Smokescreen.

Jolt is prolly one of my top 3 Transformers. The laser rods were an awsome line.

I absolutely love the G2 manga, mini comics and toys. If you get Laser Optimus Prime, try try try to get the reissue as opposed the original issue. The reissue is waaaay better (ie: added chrome, paint applications and stickers).

Thanks guys for all your responses, I'm feeling really good about getting some G2 toys! I'll definately be getting cyberjets, plus a few others I've been looking at like Calcar, Manta Ray, Air Raid and Strafe. I'll report when I have them, also I'll keep an eye open for Laser Optimus, though my budget is pretty tight atm so I'll probably have to stick to smaller/commoner figures. Thanks again!

Manta Ray was one of my favorite G2 figures.
And Leadfoot, who hardly ever gets mentioned. I say, screw Hot Rod, bring back Leadfoot!
As everyone else has said, Laser Optimus Prime is a must-have. He is definitely one of the best Prime figures ever made.
The giant green tank Megatron is another must-have.
The CyberJets are fun toys, though being full of ball-socket joints, they come apart easily.

Reissue Laser Prime, RID Scourge (same mold), and G2 Megatron are all I have and are all excellent figures worthy of the collection on any true Transformers fan.

G2 had some really great toys.
That being said, I remember when they were released. I thought they were terrible. Why would I want these terrible looking Transformers that weren't in a show and didn't look like anything I had seen before?
I remember none of my friends being accepting of them either. They were always kind of weird. Some of the kids in the neighborhood had them, but that was one way you could tell that they were either too young for the originals or just late to the party.
To some degree those feelings never went away. To this day I still shy away from Bruticus everytime I see him. It's not because I hate repaints or such, but more there was this odd reak of desperation to G2. Like Hasbro knew the toy line was on the decline and they were desperately trying to make it 'neon' cool.

Re: G2- opinions?
Although I had some G1 toys it was G2 where I really got started with my collection, if you took a look at my collection right now you'll find most of my older toys are G2, the G1's I have are mostly stuff I've purchased recently.
I really liked the laser rods set, I got half of them and the guys like Ransac and Manta Ray were great, wish I had gotten more of them when I could. A fond memories!
