Pretty much my thoughts exactly.

Plus:
-Hector, at least in the 'corrupted by fear' subplot', seemed like he could've just been covered by Sinestro; I mean, do we really need 3 different characters failing to the same vice?
-Tossing a yellow-powered entity into a yellow sun?
-The CG on the alien stuff was fantastic, but we REALLY needed to see more of it.

Well, it looks like I'm a little late to the party here. Hopefully I won't get flogged for dredging this thread back up.

I enjoyed GL - though it was far from perfect. I think some better editing and about 20-30 extra minutes would have gone a long way. I almost get the feeling that a few weeks before release the producers said "oh crap! Release is almost here! Quick - get it wrapped up for delivery!". For instance the alien CG was cool, but the suit felt kinda crappy.

I have no DC comics background. None. I have seen the first 2 Superman movies, and the Batman movies - that's it. While GL definitely isn't my new favorite movie; I had fun. And I found myself reading Wikipedia articles, etc to get 'caught up' on all the mythos. But most important for me was that my 4 y/o son LOVED it! So we now have a poster, some toys, etc.....

I hope they greenlight a sequel and learn from there mistakes (I think they will)
