Third party toy maker Headrobots has updated their website with information regarding Gyro, the set intended to upgrade Whirl from the TRU Exclusive Master of Metallikato set.

There isn't a thing on this planet that can save that mold. I just bought this set earlier in the week. Both figures were completely wretched and floppy. I'm glad that Whirl was actually missing pieces so I wouldn't feel guilty about returning them. I was actually pretty excited to have finally gotten them because I was excited about buying something else from these guys. Shame, I won't be doing so for this.

How hard could it be to mass produce a damn head and some solid one piece accessories ??? I am interested but I cant stand when these 3rd party companies go into "drama queen mode". If the product is available and I trust the company they choose for export, I will buy it. But Im not gonna loose sleep checking online every hour. Im not gonna compete with 100 geeks who live on the computer day and night to be the first to order. I want the head but not that bad. :lol:

UPDATE:

After Botcon is a little too long for a pre order in my book. I dont like people holding my cash for more than a month before shipping it out. If the things sell like wildfire, they will get in business mode and shell out more kits. If the last 25 or so dont sell, Ill cop one in May.

I don't quite understand their reasoning. Didn't they design this kit to be produced?

I like this set and was rather excited about picking it up. But, I'm not real happy it has been downgraded into just a resin kit.

I hope this isn't what happens to the Deluxe Bludgeon set, "Blood" I think it was called.

I pre-ordered 2 sets! I'm a fan of Whirl.

I really wanted 3, but it just felt like overkill.

I'm disappointed that it doesn't look like they will be making the Bludgeon Kit :sad:

Wah...dont promote **** you dont plan on producing then next time. Though thanks to this show of classiness...its one less 3rd party producer to worry about. I wont be shopping with them again.

P.S. The RotF Whirl is pretty craptastic. Ill probably give mine to a little kid when I upgrade him with DotM Skyhammer who will become my new whirl.

I wonder if TRU slipped Headrobots a bit of cash to pretend to be making the Blood/Gyro kit to shift the vast numbers of the Bludgeon/Whirl's that were warming their shelves around the world!?

I think Headrobots have done their reputation no favours from this. 'Oh look at this exciting new thing that Headrobots are producing','Meh, it'll probably never get produced........'.

Got mine. MegaToyFan is the "storefront" for CapturedPrey.com. They're pretty cool guys. I bought my red crystal Snake head from them last year at BotCon.

They never said they were going to make Gyro or (Deluxe) Blood. They should some prototypes on their site. That's all. It's just like FP with the mini Classics Megs, Matrix, etc. that never saw the light of day.

Calm down people and be thankful their doing it at all. As Flux said, the base figure here sucks, and there wasn't a whole lot of interest.

Hopefully the reason they're not spending too much time producing this set is so that they can get back at making the rest of those Japanese Headmaster heads.

Remember the 3rd party head for FansProject Ultra Magnus? I believe it was resin as well. The heads were severely deformed.

I don't have anything to do with that mold, never cared for it. As for the upgrade set... 35$ for a decent head, two insignificant wings, and two small guns. Not too mention a lifespan of 100 peices. They'll be lucky to sell all 100, that seems like a total ripoff to me.

I really wish the base molds these are intended for weren't so awful. I was really interested in these. I'm really interested to see what else these guys have in the works beyond the voyager Bludgeon kit.
