Well here's something you don't see everyday, a beauty pageant contestant dressed as a Transformer! Erin Brady, the current reigning Miss USA, sported an Optimus Prime outfit during the Miss Universe National Costume contest last weekend in Moscow. If it wasn't for the wheels and the Optimus Prime forehead crest, I'd be very skeptical about calling this an Optimus Prime costume. Either way, it's fun seeing this reported in the news as an Optimus Prime costume. Fun stuff!

All I'm seeing is a robot Uncle Sam in drag. Oh, and he's a pirate, apparently. Now I'm just waiting for word that that's the final AOE Optimus design, because really, how could anyone see that as Optimus if they hadn't seen something we hadn't?

The photo must have been taken by the guy who does the stock photography for Hasbro, since this is utterly mistransformed to the point of barely resembling the actual product.

She looks better than the Bay version, no render farms needed either. On a side note, the original diaclone Prime, he wasn't red and blue right? Did Hasrbo apply the classic Optimus paint scheme to be more "American"? Or was it the Japanese via Takara?

Seems like shameless pandering and attention-whore behavior... which, I guess, is in line with this sort of competition. I'm just saying she/her manager chose it more because of popularity than because it "represents America". When you think about it, the effect would be lost if she simply dressed up as Michael Bay...

That's what I don't get: why is the costume so ugly and generic? You could put this on a fat chick with little loss (in fact, this outfit would probably look BETTER on a bigger girl, Optimus being a truck and all). I think she should have gone for less kibble and more skin.

Now normally, I bash the Movie shenanigans, but this is that one thing that I have to disagree with (shocker). At least Movie Prime's design is recognizable of Optimus Prime. Put the design next to this swimsuit, and I bet you millions of people would point out Movie Optimus Prime as Optimus Prime than that swimsuit.
