Well, first off, they can't use Skyfire (which is a Mattel TM now.)

We'll probably never know the issues behind this naming travesty because most references are incomplete or contradict.

In fact, the Transformers story bible offers seemingly contradictory statements on Jetfire. An early page notes how "JETFIRE has been "transformed" into SKYFIRE -- with a different model -- due to legal reasons. Do not use this character unless necessary" [2], whereas a subsequent page on new Season 2 characters notes that "Although Reflector should no longer be used as a character in the series, JETFIRE will be redesigned and reintroduced in the near future"[3]. As the Valkyrie-derived animation model never appeared in the cartoon, and Skyfire was never redesigned, it's uncertain just what these notes refer to.

Interesting.

I never knew Jetfire became Autobot leader. Jettimus Prime? :-?

I wonder if Jetfire can officially transform into Gerwalk.

Thanks, guys. For all the different versions of the story. It's fun reading and learning.

Now where can i find the Netherlands version of Jettimus Prime?

If your talking about the inbetween transformation it was done in one episode of the G1 toon and I think it was allso done in the G1 marvel comic run.

There seem to be some copyright issues. That TF Valkerie is not supposed to use the Gerwalk mode.

I'm not sure. Just read that somewhere.

Well the did redesign the toon character model's apperance so much that he no longer looked like a Valkerie so I would assume that the law suit would have failed anyway.

But they only used the mode once and still modified it so that the hands and arms were not seen just the legs.

Animated has shown several instances of Gerwalk mode. Such that, the character transforms halfway, to retain the alt mode function, at the same time, make use of some robot functions.

* When Prime was rolling on the conveyor belt, his arms transforms to grab hold of the conveyor frame.

* When Bumblebee was in car mode, and yet, transforms his arms to grab the girl out of the car.

Since we were on the topic of G1 Jetfire/Skyfire I was only talking about the occations that his character had a "mid-way" transformation.

If you want to drag all the characters from all the different TF shows into the debate we'll be here all day.

He was called Skyfire in the g1 show. While the toy was called Jetfire. In the show some changes were made on him. So he didn't resemble the human piloted jet robot toy from Macross-Robotech.
