Damn, these model guys are crazy. Building scaled and working models over here is a pretty big and respected hobby, but so very expensive. That turbine he used in that thing costs a small fortune and the rest of the plane is most probably also scratch build, using model kits is a little frowned upon if you want to make something like that.
I also find it hilarious that the guy who posted it is Japanese and every body congratulated him for the model while the video is German.

It still amazes me that the SR-71 Blackbird is still as popular today as it was when it was first revealed to the public - especially since it's no longer flying.
