My memories of Red Dwarf have all faded really. All I really remember was a black guy with a rat tail hair cut and an android or something that looked human, but he was all geometrical.

I liked the early seasons most. And I never really liked Kryten, his first appearence was great, but was annoying as Wheelie after that. :-P

What really messed it up toward the end is that they tried to make too much science fiction and too little comedy.

However, there were some genius moments in the last season where you could feel they almost had the old magic back. Like Rimmer with the sexual magnetism virus and at the very end when he kicks death in the nads.

They had originally planned to have Ace Rimmer rescue him, but IMO the ending they chose instead was so much more like the classic stories.

Well ... two episodes in ... it's lost it's shine that's for sure.

I can count the number of times I laughed on one hand for each episode, and that's just disappointing.

Highlight so far has been the "new" Starbug. Yes, I would be lame enough to drive one of them too.
