Agreed.. but I will say this, that if Thundercracker gets created next as MP-07, then he will be on my shelf next to Skywarp on the left side of Megs, with the 2 Starscreams on the other side...one as the real one, the other as the drone..

Soundwave would be interesting as a Masterpiece, only it would be the tapes that would have more interst for me to see how they do them differently from the originals..

I still would like to see Rodimus Prime next, but time will tell if they go season 3 route or if they decide to do updated Masterpiece versions of the regular autobots..

Why not? I've had a cassette walkman player that's almost as thin as the tape itself. Practically, just a skin sheet over the tape. Fully functional. With radio, recording, digital display, the works! It's an Aiwa. I guess they utilized miniature motors and electronics.

Since MP Soundwave should be quite big, they can take that mini Aiwa components, and use it for Soundwave. It will take up probably a few millimeters of Soundwave's inner chest. Won't even affect his transformability.

Then the package can include Laserbeak tape in the regular tape-size. But he can't play music, of course.

Use Laserbeak, for play fun.

Use real tapes for music.

Very intriguing, the working Soundwave idea. But, all things considered, I have a tape deck already. In reality, if MP Soundwave was a working tape deck, I probably wouldn't buy him becuase that just sounds tacked on to me. MP Megatron isn't a working firearm, so real functionality isn't a built-in MP component. Just saying, the MP3 Soundwave is an awesome idea.
But I don't need a big working tape deck with a $100 price tag. I didn't spend $100 on a tape deck in the 80s when tape decks were expensive.

I wouldn't want them to have to compromise on the design of Soundwave to incoroiporate the gimmicks and electronics of making him a working tape deck.. however I hope they incorporate an extra space for the tapes themselves, like to have maybe 2 carried in his chest.. but then again having the chest prongs there would make him authentic...

Exactly. Sure it's nice to dream big and hope for a working Soundwave tape player. But, you know, it comes down to what you want. Do you want a tape player resembling Soundwave or do you want a kickass Soundwave figure. The MP3 MP element might work better, but I'm more interested in a true MP Soundwave. A working one would be kind of cool, but I wouldn't want a cool SOundwave, I want a Masterpiece.

That wouldn't deter me. I would probably keep him in his robot mode most of the time.

Unless they modify his alt mode into some bigger boombox, but still maintain the G1 robot design.
