The Daily Show is on right now. At the beginning, John Stewart said how there would be a major announcement about the 2008 Presidential campaign.

Then, he introduced Stephen Colbert. The Colbert Report theme begins playing, Stephen comes out on a carriage, driven by a man dressed as Uncle Sam.

After some witty banter (And an ice cold beer), Stephen says how he is "Considering to announce whether he will or will not announce that he is running for president!"

So, if Stephen Colbert ran for president, would you vote for him?

I sure as hell would. I have no doubt that if he ran, he would win easily.

Definetly! He is a smart funny and charasmatic republican MALE. It takes a sharp analytical mind to be as witty as he is.

That and our current choices for republican and democrat are not better.

Actually, on the Colbert Report, he said "I am running as a Republican...and as a Democrat." Probably indicating he'd be moderate.

EDIT: Oh, and he described himself in real life as a Democrat.

I'd vote for him, especially if he ran as an independent. I'd love to see both parties lose control of the Executive Branch (even though he says he's more Democratic than Republican, he's still close to the middle, much like me).

See now I'm torn, I was gonna vote Clinton so we could get Bill back :-?

But dam, Colbert, with all the crap floating around Capitol Hill lately, he would be a breath of fresh air!

He wouldn't be effective for anything, but man moral would be great!

Still this is no different than when Stern ran a few elections back. I hope he has fun and points out some strong flabels in the system to both us and actual political candidates. Not that I feel a working polititian is always the best route, usualy, it's the total opposite. Carter was awesome, but as an outsider, he never got to realy reach his full potential without the full support of the other branches, and that sucks too!

Still, it could be worse, we could be ANYPLACE ELSE, plus Colbert would probably legalize it quick :-P

At least it's not a picket fence. :lol:

I can handle getting fried or getting poked by the barbs, but sitting on pointed pieces of lumber would hurt the ass after a while.

I'm personally an anarchistic, elitist, Darwinistic facio-socialist who realizes he's never gonna get the government he wants, so I'm independent. Try and see how many oxymorons you think you see in there.

I think its dumb.Our government,or any government for that matter isn't meant to be taken so lightly.I think it makes a mockery of the US government and its not like theirs alot of integrity and respect left.Plus if he takes votes away votes from a "real" candidate then thats just wrong.I'm already pissed when I vote at a local high school and some moron communist or fundamentalist some how got on the ballot.

Meh. America needs to get a siphon for all the dumb voters anyway. Though, by my own words, I'm guessing he'll win about 90% of the total.

Its not that there are dumb voters. Its that there is a lack of good canditates this time. We have democratic FEMALE a democratic BLACK MUSLIM and WEAK Republicans.

Not a single one of them is strong enough to talk about things candidly and how they feel and thats the kinda stuff we need to know about.

NONE of them came straight and said they opposed gay marriage or other controversial issues. They just dance around and dont make their stance clear.
