Some of us over at TFans where thinking about doing a TF Custom of the Year Award because the Transformers community tends to get shunned at other custom sites. We want to get all the sites together for this.

Here's the idea:

TF Custom of the Year 2005

Categories:

Best G1/G2
Best BW/BM
Best Armada/Energon
Best Cybertron
Best Alternators
Best G1/G2 Homage
Best BW/BM Homage
Best Armada/Energon Homage
Best Paint
Best Articulation
Best New Customizer
TF Custom of the Year

Best G1/G2, Best BW/BM, etc. Would be any custom made from those toyline molds regardless of characters. I would consider Masterpieces to be G1. Example: G1 prime repainted as Scourge.

Best Homage categories would be any custom of a character from that toyline made from another toyline mold. Example: Alternators custom of BW character.

The rest are self explanatory.

Entry guidelines:

1.) It would be open to any customs finished between 1/1/05 and 1/1/06.

2.) Start a thread at each website for entries.

3.) Submit as many customs as you want. Submit 3-4 pictures of your custom.

4.) A few impartial judges (preferably Admins from sites: Super Fire Convoy, Kalidor, Tony, and hopefully Remy) will chose the 4 best in each category.

5.) Start poll threads at each site for general public voting. Hopefully it?ll get frontpaged and get a lot of people voting.

6.) Tally up the votes.

7.) Announce winners.

Timeline:

Entry Submission: April 1st to April 15th
Judges Nomination: April 16th to April 22nd
Voting: April 23rd to May 6th
Announce Winners: May 8th

Prizes:

I don?t think we need cash prizes. But I?d be will to donate some extra Cybertron figures I have. I was also thinking about making a little custom that would make a nice award. Also, recognition works for me.

These are just my ideas. We could expand on it. Let me know what you guys think.

I'd so be up for this... Am even beginning to think of ones I could enter. Though I do have to ask... Does this include totally custom built characters (meaning ones from none of the series, just fan designed ones) or are we stuck to the already established canon (G1 to Cybertron)?

Yes, what about characters made from parts from variouse series and who are complete characters of out own design?

I don't know what's up with this. We've been discussing it over at TFans. TFM had some good ideas. We need to get a few of us together to organize it and get judges on board. Also get prizes figured out and promote it. I think it would be really nice to have all the TF boards involved.

Work's hit me like a ton of bricks and I've had very little time to do much with it. I think a lot of us are in the same boat.

I think this is a great idea!
I also really like the idea of getting all the boards together for an "official" awarding! Perhaps a few judges from each board to really get this community going!

I just bumped the thread over there so it would get more attention, and like I said there and am saying here, I'm willing to do a part or two just to get this thing going, even if it means I can't "enter the contest" this time around.

do you think it woudl be ok to submit something that wasnt finsihed? i was thinking of submitting my first alt bumblebee in the scratch build catagory, it was prity much finsihed orthen paintinng before it went to the scrap yard
