US director Irvin Kershner, who is best known for directing the classic Star Wars Empire Strikes back movie has died at the age of 87 in LA. Kershner also directed such classic movies as Robocop 2 and James Bond in "Never Say Never Again," which was actor Sean Conery's last Bond film.

It's a coincidence that Empire was on TV last night. Maybe I should have watched it then.

I think I'll put it into my DVD player tonight when I get home from work.

The Empire Strikes Back is one of the very best films ever made in my opinion and it's certainly one of my all time favorites!

I've just found out that Irvin Kershner has passed away. He of course directed 'Empire', so to find out he passed away in the same week as Leslie Nielsen is a bit hard to take.

I still remember his voice from the audio commentary for 'Empire' and he sounded like a fun guy. It sounded like he really enjoyed making that movie. It's my favorite SW movie.
