Small Soldiers. I loved the hell out of that movie, and it could have easily had a sequel.

Like Indiana Jones was a Classic?
A Classic SO Instant, that a remake could be a bad thing....

But NOT a REMAKE. Could you imagine it being remade with TODAY'S Script and animation? Theyd'e make it look like Duke Nukem stepped into Toy Story.

I'm a bit shocked that Back to the Future or Ghostbusters has not been remade yet.

If both films stand the test of time, why bother remaking them? The effects have stood up pretty well(traditional effects trump CG most of the time for me), and the acting/story has as well. A remake might not be that interesting, and it would probably lack the spirit of the original.
Moving onto the topic, I am so on the fence about Jurrassic Park getting a remake. The original is the best, though I do like Lost World. JP 3 is good, but the impact of "Oh hey, we've got DINOSAURS!!!" has sadly deteriorated. Thing is I don't know what they could do for a sequal, so a remake is the only option. But where else could they go with it? I will see Jurrassic Park 4/Remake in theatures no question, but I'm wary at the same time.
Now then, let's talk about King Kong. Personally, I'm not against the theory of remaking it. Willis O' Brian's stop motion animation is still some of the best I've ever seen, and Kong is very much portrayed like an animal, and he's treated like one. I really love the 1933 Kong, but the remakes...
Kong '76 was overly long, and pretty boring. It had some decent characters and a story, but it lost nearly all the mystery and wonder that was in the original Kong. Heck, the only thing Kong fights is a giant snake, and only for a very brief minute. It's been a good while since I saw the film, so I don't have any real deep thoughts to share, but it was a rather bland remake. However...
Kong '05 is one of my least favorite movies. That is not how you do a remake. More time does not necessarily mean a better film. Battles against strange CG creatures are fine, except when you practically have them back to back, and don't even give the audiance a chance to breathe. Oh, and it makes us forget that Kong is supposed to be the antagonist of the film. Speaking of which, a battle with three V-Rexes(....why did they rename and remake dinosaurs? They aren't copyrighted!) is not fun when it takes like ten minutes and needlessly silly(Kong's fighting three dinosaurs with Ann in his paws...really? Couldn't set her down, not mention the Rex's in the vines.), and who is supposed to be the main character of the scene anyway? This is supposed to be Kong's moment!
And speaking of Kong, my other main beef against the movie is they go out of their way to try and humanize him, as well as make him likable. In the '76 version it kinda worked because there Kong was more a victim of circumstances and not really a killer. In the '33 version Kong's portrayed generally as a monster that does kill, but he's never humanized, and the audiance feels sympathy for him because we know he can't understand what's happening to him, and no character in the film is trying to love him. And that is why the '05 version fails me, because it tries to have it both ways, but it doesn't.
As a postive note on the film, I enjoyed Jack Black.
Anyway, one final Kong mention: they NEED to remake Godzilla vs. King Kong. I love Godzilla WAY more than Kong, but that film sadly has not aged well, and I'd love to see their titanic battle with modern effects.

Ghostbusters supposedly has a sequel planned. IMDB has it slated for 2012, though with all the contradictory information going around about Akroyd's script, and Bill Murray's reluctance to do another one etc.. its hard to say whether there really will be one any time soon. You have the video game for now to act as a sequel.
BTTF doesn't need a remake or sequel its fine as it is. There's no way to top it. If you need a sequel play the the new game from Steam or Xbox Live I think its also available on. Its pretty good. And the voices are spot on.
There's a Men in Black sequel coming.
And I'd like to see a remake to Disney's IMan starring Scott Bakula. Hell a DVD/Blue Ray release would suffice but if they decide to remake it its all good.

I actually kind of liked the first Guyver with mutated Mark Hamill. Though its kind of false Advertisement since Mark Hamill isn't really the actual hero in the Guyver Armor.
Its not a bad story line for a sci-fi movie, and with some decent budget, and good special effects, I think a remake could work.

I'd like to see some of the horrible video game movies remade. Bloodrayne, Alone in the Dark, and House of the Dead would make pretty good movies if they were handled with a little respect and competence.

LET ME IN was absolutely pointless. It was a frame by frame remake of LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, with literally no differences. Even the camera angles were the same.
CIRQUE DU FREAK: THE VAMPIRE'S ASSISTANT needs a sequel about the Vampire Council/Trials of Initiation portion of the series. A second sequel should then be made about the hunt for the Vampaneze Lord, ending with Crepsley's death. Sons of Destiny should have its own movie.
I don't know about you guys, but I want to see another Avatar, and another Terminator.
RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES needs a sequel. A whole bunch of them.
It would be really cool if they could make a movie about the Black Ops campaign.
TRANSFORMERS 4! Why has nobody said that yet?
More Sequels:
Edward Scissorhands
Toy Story
Iron Man
The Iron Giant
District 9
Predator
Remakes:
Creature from the Black Lagoon
Spaceballs
The Invisible Man
Kindergarten Cop
Poltergeist (I think there's one of those in the works)
The list goes on and on, people.

I think I would want to see a Duke Nukem movie made, just to shut up the fans, plus, if it were good enough, Id'e go see it I guess.

I thought Tomb Raider was ok, but I've only played one of the games so I'm not an authority on it. I've never seen Hitman or played the games so I can't comment on it. There are a ton of bad video game movies, I was just using those as examples off the top of my head.

I think they should remake Dragonball, for two reasons.
1) Obviously, It sucked, It sucked SO BAD.
2) The guy who Played Piccolo and quite a few other Acters on that movie KNEW The Anime like alot of us do, yet, when given their lines, did NOTHING. I mean, there comes a certain point in time were you read the line and you say, "Okay, that's not right AT ALL", and on the set of Dragonball-Evolution, this had to of happened like 1,000 times a day, and no one bothered to even say anything until AFTER The film was made. Now their talking about sequels? Remake the first one, then we'll talk about sequels, especially if part two's ending with Vegeta leaving earth defeated, and part three's supposed to end with the destruction of Namek.

I think that the best classics movies, such as Back to the Future, shouldn't be remade. It almost feels sacrilegious. I was quite doubtful when they made the Karate Kid remake. I'm not a huge fan of the original, or anything, but it just seemed wrong to remake a classic like that. I was surprised when the remake actually turned out to be pretty good. Anyway, I think that The Incredibles really needs to have a sequel, or a prequel. There are probably plenty of other sequels I'd want, but I can't think of any more right now.

I only thought only Rambo 1 made sense. the other rambo movies took the character out of character & put him in situations that kept getting more bizare.
The rocky movies should have ended with rocky II. The 3rd & 4th rock movies were okay. the 5th rocky movie & the newest rocky balboa movies should of never happened nor seen the light of day. it seems like sylvestor stalone doesn't care about ruining his movies as long as he keeps getting a pay day,it seems like it's justified for him.
the police academy movies, should have never made it past the first movie.
I think He-man deserves a remake.
