this is because most of their products have been on sale since january, not to mention the coupons that have been floating around. I havent bought 1 full price transformer since the first week of january. But i guarantee They'd see even more growth if they would just lower their damn prices back to normal. If they do that then improve the quality they would start making money hand over fist again.

Well, I know that after christmas I could not find a single transformer to spend my money on. ALl of the big chain stores were completely out. I would have bought stuff then.

Sales are bad over here because there is nothing new sitting on the retail shelves. There are places in my area that still have a few DOTM deluxes. I have yet to see the TF Prime Beasthunters Shockwave myself.

I don't see anywhere that says sales are down. "Flat" would lead me to assume things just held steady.

Considering that it seemed like shelves were VACANT during the 1st Quarter, it's no wonder sales were "flat". It's frustrating to know that online retailers were getting the newest waves of figures yet whenever there WAS product on the shelves it was about two waves/releases behind. I'd attribute the flat sales to poor distribution/ordering by the stores.

Also factor in that Deluxe prices were sky high, that should also be considered in the grand scheme of things.

I am, but only Takara's, screw Hasbro. If they want my money, they must step up their game big time.

Anyway, I agree with Va'al on this one. Flat sales do not equal a decline in sales. TFs are doing just fine, and with an impending movie due which will of course have an accompanying toyline and with the bots taking on a new look/style of design (according to everything we've heard about TF4 so far), I fully expect that TF sales will go through the roof just as they did when the '07 movie/line came out.

TF is a longstanding property that still thrives today. Right now Has/Tak are going through their usual cycle of cutting costs on the figures and raising prices, releasing what some (I) would call substandard product, but that's been happening ever since G1 (remember the second gen Headmasters, Targetmasters and Pretenders that were all cheaper and smaller and way less realistic looking in their color schemes and composed of largely cheaper plastics?).

It hurts sales a bit every time Hasbro does this, but I'm certain they have some brilliant number crunchers who figure out that cutting corners like this every X# of years/months/whatever results in a net gain for the company so that they can finance the next line.

Transformers will not be going away any time soon, and a drop in sales for a particular line, product or property (again, not that this actually IS a drop) doesn't mean that you kill it. Especially one as historically profitable as this one.

Nah I saw ya man. What I read, though this could be wrong: Overall, Hasbro reported Sales growth, but for Transformers specifically, sales pretty much held steady.
