[NOTE: this post was written back in October. I've just recently started actually working on the project.]

[NOTE 2: I'm posting this in the Homage: Extensive Mods forum 'cause this is definitely more than just a repaint and head-swap.]

Thanks to a discussion over at The AllSpark, I've been inspired to create this:

The bumper and square bit in his belly will actually be silver, as will the fuel tanks on his thighs, and the clear parts may end up painted opaque red and blue.

I made the dumper bed grey with dark blue as a throwback to G1's trailer.

The flames (or whatever) on the bumper and his toes will obviously be left out.

This has officially gone from digi-concept to real project.

I used a Bendy Prime head in the digibash, but I have no extra Bendy heads and I have used/am using the heads from other Prime toys for my other Optimus KB's, so I've decided to build one.

I've finished constructing the Optimus head (Cybertron Excellion head + epoxy putty and modified visor), and thought you'd like to see it. It needs a little more cleaning up, then I can paint it.

Top class! Who'd've thought to use a Hot Shot/Excellion head for a Prime bash (well... you, obviously)? That looks really cool, and while it's definitely a new look, it still says Prime.

I saw Prime's head in Hotshot's a long time ago, I just have no need to do the mod. Hotshot's helmet is nearly identicle to G1 Prime's except that it lacks the face plate.

Actually, I originally planned to use the Downshift head left over from my Cybertron Shockwave...

...but it was way too big (it and Excellion's are both deluxe-sized heads--go figure) and I couldn't figure out what to do about his antennae (since resolved!), and someone else had suggested the similarities between Hot Shot/Excellion and Optimus (it might possibly have been Tramp--I can't remember) in one of my Demolishor Prime threads, so I revisited that.

Tramp: you are correct: it does look like Optimus already, but leaving him with a visor just didn't look right to me, so I used my rotary tool and some judicious sanding to reduce its depth by about 1/16", so it almost sits flush with the rest of the helmet, which is a huge improvement--especially as far as the crest goes.
