Looking for the famous Alternator MODs

Postby Pepie » Mon Jun 06, 2005 5:57 am

I want to write a short guide with all the known mods, like the trunkmod etc, and add it to the mainpage.
I will search the whole board and update this topic with my found entries, but ask you all to keep an eye open and post one here if found.
More for the topicstarters which came with the mods, please post the links here, you will get full credit ofcourse!

Thanks in advance folks!

thats a pritty cool idea, shoudl brign more trafic to the site and make sure the mods arnt lost

didnt TFmaster do something with the ford mustang mold doors in bot mode on his alt megs kitbash, that one looked pritty cool

tentagil took the doors off hound to make him lok more like the g1 version, wasnttoomuch but looked effective

maybe a section for alternator weapons, i know a few of us have done windcharger gun barrels etc and someoen did a repaint of deadend/ sunstreaker mod

oh and the deadend trunk mod to make it open on the hinge thats screwed down

There are too many!

Nice idea for the weapon thing, a miscellanous section should be a good addition!

there's also one for sideswipe hip flaps so you can lift his leg forward. I believe I can find it from over at TFW2005. It'll take a little while though.
till all are one.

Sunstreaker and Sideswipe mods

It all really just depends on how much range of motion you wanted
on the trunk.

Sideswipe has just modified at the trunk hinge

Sunstreaker was modified at the trunk hinge and the trunk lever

here are the pics:

That looks pretty sweet BBee!

Even though it seems Sunstreaker has lost quite a bit of poseability in his shoulders.

well,

if you try to put Sideswipe's trunk over his shoulders, it only goes so
far. you either have a big angle.....what it looks like on the sideswipe trunk mod or. It has the connector nubs to touch the top of his shoulders.
by modifying the lever piece, the trunk sits more squarely or rests more
evenly on the shoulders....like it was ment to be there.

give it a try...you can see what I mean.

Was there anything else on the tracks mods other than the door movemnt? I've started segmenting the batmobile shell to fit Ravage and I'm not sure if I'll need that part or not yet. Anything else worthwhile that could help the mold? Oh ya I'll try to take some pics.

So far it's been rather difficult. I have a 1:25 model and it's still to long and wide compared to the corvette. So I'm afraid of having too much kibble.

Also I have got to give Jimsloth some major props. It is near impossible to cut a straight line with a Jewlers saw.

Also the only Optimus head I have that would fit the mold is the Robat moster one which is perfect cause now I don't have to sculpt Primals face. Just add the proper ball joint.

Now just figure out a way to fasten it to the undercarrage like his sword. That really does look cool.
