Classics Universe (Henkei-flavoured) Skywarp

Postby Arraitchgee » Tue May 26, 2009 6:39 am

Hello, everyone!
This my second repaint, after my previous Thundercracker http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/viewtopic.php?f=159&t=52564&p=926752. Since I was also unable to get the Target-exclusive Skywarp, here's my own take on him. I did this using Revell enamel paints (since I'm in the UK) and a lot of perseverance.
As you can see, this is from a Universe Acid Storm:

(Which was half price!)

Here he is in jet mode:

And with his fellow Seekers (Henkei Starscream and Custom Thundercracker):

Robot mode:

And the full set so far:

And if you're wondering about the "Henkei-flavour", his underarms were painted to correspond to Henkei Starscream:

Any and all opinions welcome.

IT LOOKS great! you should paint those green spots on the cockpit however.

Was it easy for you to paint this figure? I just painted my G1 Bluestreak's hood black.

Thank you very much! The spots on the cockpit may be a bit too advanced for me, as this is only my second custom. It's still a step up in terms of detail from Thundercracker, who is just so blue.

It was quite easy, I can see myself honing my skills, and any mistakes were rectified. I find it easier to dismantle the figures before painting them, which helps no end. Though oddly the black paint seems more likely to crack and flake than any of the other colours.
