OK,
I don't how many here are nuts as I am:
I got the City Commander in 2008 for my Classics Ultra Magnus, and we know what happen later...
So I did get the extra add-ons in '09; but I didn't like how loose the missile launcher was on the trailer.
Finally in the last 2 weeks, I decided to order '09 City Commander, and it came this Monday.
So how many here did the same? And did you sell off the '08 City Commander?

I did the same, and I didn't sell my original version. I just put it back in it's box and stored it away.

I didn't learn about the City Commander set until after it was sold out. I was so desperate to get one that I bought one off ebay (right after the new set was announced) because I was too impatient to wait two months. I wish i did because the one I bought was missing a pin that goes in the flap on the back of his ankle. It holds in place just fine in both modes. Then I had to spend the $20 or so on the shoulder missles. If I had the ability to wait I could've saved myself around $40.

Not that bad.I have the 2008 ver plus I also purchased the missile/gun/face set. A little bit of clear nail polish is enough to do the trick.

I got the 2008 set and the upgrades ... and I'm happy with it. Maybe the missiles would bug me in truck mode more if he was ever in truck mode, lol.
The CC armor costs enough that I'd rather plug that same amount of money into a whole new buy. And there's plenty of that out there.

Yeah, I think I should also mention that I still have MiB Skywarp vs Ultra Magnus in my room.
The thing is that I do play around with my TF's.

I think most of us play around with our TFs a bit too. But Magnus is in such a place that it's be a pain to take him out and transform him.
I just have a different mentality when it comes down to collecting, I guess. I'm loath to buy more than one mold of a TF, especially at that price. And duplicates? Only if I break something. They could have given him a "perfect" G1 esque head and I wouldn't buy him.

I never got the 2008 version... I didn't buy a CC set until just a few months ago, so I got the 2009 version with the upgrade pack.
