Each Micron was available separately, exclusively at Jusco stores in Japan in May of 2003. Only 400 units of each Micron were made. To receive one of them, a shopper had to purchase MC-01 Convoy Super Mode. The Microns were then blind packed within the box. Oh, and this box had no window. This ¥6000 toy (~$51 given the exchange rate at that time) that came out the previous year that most collectors would have owned anyway - this is what one would have to buy at least three of to get this set.
Yikes!
The age, limited quantity, and upfront cost of getting a set has made this the rarest and most expensive Micron or Mini-con set out there, excluding Lucky Draws and non-mass-produced sets.
Album available at my Flickr if you want to directly download any of these at full resolution. All album images mirrored below. I hope you enjoy this look at these very hard to find versions of Wheel, Crush, and Duster. Stay tuned at the end for some fun, more hastily taken shots featuring Superlink Sandstorm and Cannon.
