Anyone else buy the STORMBRINGERS TPB???

I bought it this week, hoping for some sweet extras.
The extras were okay, some sketches of different characters, some used, some not used. Of note was a cool Astrotrain with a nifty new transformation scheme.
Cosmos looked good too.
Other than that it was just all the covers collected and the story of course. I really liked the art on this so, as a collection of art, I am glad that I have it, but it's not really worth it, if you have the individuals. Well, like I said, minus the art.
Anyone else buy it? Comments about the story? ...Art???

You just wrote pretty much what I was going to write. I also bought the TPB (yesterday) and I thought it was nice. I always love the sketches in the back and I love it even more when they brake down a transformation. Astrotrain was awsome, as it was the first thing I saw when I opened the bool (obviously from the back, as that's where the goodies always are) I liked how more of Bludgeon and Thunderwing were show, like more detail of the TWs Second skin mode or Bludgeons tank mode. I would really like to know who the two jets are on the page next to Cosmos (which is the concept art for Classics Cosmos if i'm not mistaken) The one thing I didn't like was Iguanus' shell. It looked too beast warsish for my tastes. I also felt Megatron was based on Titanium Fallen. Just had that feel to it.
Other they the great additions to the four part series, I couldn't recommend it enough to people. While it's no War With (vol.1, the others were crap) it's still fantastic to see some of the lesser characters get some play.

I thought that looked like the sketch at Botcon (of COSMOS), but foggy memory caused me to doubt myself.
I think the one is the Skywarp/Thundercracker seeker. The other...well I wish those were labeled.
So now that we are getting a titanium toy that looks exactly like Stormbringer Megatron, and the design is similar to Bludgeon's tankness (tracks on the back, etc.), might Bludgeon be a repaint of good ol' Megs toy. Blasphemy, I know...

Would't be the first time it's happend. Remember RID Bludgeon? I could see it happen to tell you the truth. Al things considered I would much rather Fallen be repainted into Bludgeon.

Just picked it up today. Having missed #1, I didn't bother with the rest of them. Glad I didn't now, as I'm now only going to get TPB (with the obvious exception of Spotlights) from here on in. The story was good. A bit slow to get started, but soon picked up pace. I also liked the artwork. The characters had a more 'solid' feel to them when compared to E.J.Sue's work on the Earth based saga. And I finally know what the rest of that conversation was with Megs that we got a glimpse of in Infiltration.
While I couldn't give a hoot about the covers, I do like seeing the concept art for the tf's. At least we know what Megs alt mode looks like. Definatly worth it imo.

Still some sort of train, or a different second alt-mode?

I was quite disappointed with the abrupt ending to this story.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I thought it was a little odd that all the combinded fire power of both bots and cons couldn't even phase T-wing but prime with four guns could stop him dead in his tracks. I know Prime is the icon and all, but come on. Broadside and Roadbuster alone should have been enough.

The guns didn't really do anything but slow it down; the Thunderwing corpse burnt itself out on the super-energon used to reanimate it, until it was vulnerable.

It was a train (not a locomotive, or steam engine, very futuristic type like the one's at Disney) and a shuttle still, but the transformation was quite different, think Cybertron Mudflap...

Me too! I was real unhappy the way the story just ended. Great story, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but at the end I still wanted some more.
I'm slow with comics, so forgive me, but is CL Jetfires' figure based on his STORMBRINGER look or did they base the comic appearance on his Classics figure?

Yes, Classics Jetfire is indeed based on Stormbringers Jetfire design.
