The TransFormers HD-DVD may have just become a collectable. Toshiba officially announced this morning that they will stop producing HD-DVD products. Blu-Ray has won.

"Toshiba will begin to reduce shipments of HD DVD players and recorders to retail channels, aiming for cessation of these businesses by the end of March 2008. Toshiba also plans to end volume production of HD DVD disk drives for such applications as PCs and games in the same timeframe, yet will continue to make efforts to meet customer requirements. The company will continue to assess the position of notebook PCs with integrated HD DVD drives within the overall PC business relative to future market demand."

I wonder if TF will come out on Blu-Ray now? And does this mean the HD-DVD version of TF will now increase in value?

good thing i dont own hd dvd player ha finally this crap is over blue ray is what we have to put ujp with.

im no fan of hd dvd and blue ray so im not going to cross over just yet there are alot of dvds and dvd shows that i cant get on blue ray.

Ah, give it some time. Remember when DVD came out? Overpriced, and you couldn't find much on it...then WHAAM...VHS disappears and DVD took over. This'll probably end up the same way 2 or three years down the road.
