Anybody had trouble beating EA Games' Black (FPS)?

I've played Black (you know, "gun porn") for about a week and it's a totally sweet game.

However, the last level is totally freaking hard though, but I think it's beatable.

This does lead me to two complaints about the game.

1) The last couple of levels (especially the final level) are long with no midlevel save points at all. There are check points, which help, but there should be some mid-level save points especially in that last level.

There are some extremely difficult parts in that last levels, which leads to me dying and replaying a lot of areas I've already been through.

Then I get to check points which let me start there after I die, which is cool. But I can't start there if I exit the game.

Since this level is long and hard, there are times where I make it far, and make it to the check points, but have to turn off the game to go somewhere or do something. My freaking progress is lost and I have to replay those areas. Again.

I have tried switching to Easy Difficulty (I played on Normal Difficulty), and it hasn't really helped. As far as I know the only difference between Easy and Normal is that Easy has more health packs and bullets. I don't think the Enemy AI gets dumbed down.

2) My second complaint is the freaking smoke effects after the guns are fired. Sure it looks cool and is probably realistic, but it obscures your view and therefore you can't freaking see your enemy. This is especially frustrating when the enemies gang up on you.

I've read the guides at gamefaqs.com and know what to expect, but it's hard to shoot someone when you can't see them and don't know where they are coming from.

Motto: "May God have mercy on my enemies, because I sure as hell won't."
You know, I traded in Black while I was still on the final level. I tried at least a dozen times to get past, and still nothing.

And I was playing on easy.

It's pure evil, I tells ya!

Hint - Bunker Blind Spot
In the final mission in the last standoff room, there's a door in between the twin bunkers that will not open. On the left of that door is a lamp. If you stand beside the lamp, you should be covered fairly well by the wall the lamp is hanging from. The guards cannot get to you nor may they shoot you; however, you can shoot back at them.

Well, I managed to beat the final level today, on easy difficulty.

Probably tried more than 15 time. When I finally geat it, it felt more like luck than skill. I was nearly out of health, and a freaking hidden rpg guy try to take me out.

I don't know if you get a different ending if you beat it on Normal, but quite frankly I don't care to play it on Normal.
