Human Alliance Skids (and Mudflap)
- Motto: "Mottos! We need no stinking mottos!"
- Weapon: Double-Barreled, Armor-Piercing Particle Beam Cann...
I just got done watching the video review on YouTube by Peaugh, and I really like the looks of that thing. I was not expecting to, since the character is silly, has a hideous alt form, and is just an ugly little bastard in general. There aren't many redeeming qualities about these characters (not enough to justify wanting the toys), but there is something compelling me to like it. What do you folks think?

Good call on Barricade. That is a total must-buy for me.

After buying both HA BB and HA SS, I'm actually quite curious and anticipating HA Skids and Mudflap. Of course when HA Barricade comes out its a must-buy as well.

I've already got the deluxe (individual compact car) versions of the twins, so I'll probably pass. Still, they don't really look that bad as HA's...surprisingly movie accurate, obnoxious little trolls that they are.
I just have to buy HA BB (despite the crotch thing), and am still on the fence about Barricade. Love the character but I'll still have to see the final product to decide.

I got HA BB, Sideswipe as well as Skids.
Personally i like Skids the most. Is a bit small for HA size, but is a good toy and represent Skids from the movie very well. The robot mode is the best.
Glad that i waited for this instead of deluxe class.
So of all the HA series, at the moment Sideswipe is the worst.

Your statements echo the video review very closely. I am growing more and more intrigued by the HA Skids figure, and I will very likely buy him. Also, it seems to be the general consensus that Sideswipe is the worst of the Human Alliance line. I will agree. I have BB and he is excellent. Easily a better figure than Sideswipe. However, I literally can't keep my eyes off the HA SS figure. I love the look of that figure, even if he has too much backpack. I am not exagerating when I say either version (HA or Deluxe) of Sideswipe could be my favorite looking Transforming of all time. That design is just completely badass.

After watching the review I think HA Skidz is a must buy even though none of the other HA figures have piqued my interest. Heck I'm even into the lil mini Arcee. Looks to be a great lil extra.
Also the Barricade should be a must buy unless they completely screw it up

I've been pretty impressed by this line so far. Skidz is no different. I can't wait to see some better shots of Barricade.

HA SS is below Deluxe SS, but I have to say HA SS's alt mode is really pretty

True enough, the plus plus point for HA Sideswipe is the alternate mode.... Really awesome car.
Another good thing about HA SS, i find it HA version is easier to stand than the Deluxe Sideswipe.
Other than these 2, Deluxe Sideswipe beats the crap out of HA SS.

I had a similar reaction to the twins when I first saw the concept art and when watching RotF. They're just goofy looking...goofs. BUT...their look has grown on me. I, for some reason, really like more chunky character designs. I've always thought that the general design, minus the face/head features, of Mudflap and Skids are ideal for my vision of a perfect "movie Bumblebee".
I think that the character design just works as it should. It's a unified concept so that, yes, the characters are silly, the alt modes aren't the sexy sports cars most prefer, and their faces are just...well, only a mother could love those mugs. Yet all the details work together. It's really a gestalt where when you look at the individual aspects of the character design, you get a mediocre rating at best but when it's all assembled, you get a super goof with an unusual charm.
I prefer Skids out of the twins so I'm going to get either the Deluxe or HA version. I hope to get an up close look at the HA version whenever it becomes available locally.
