Questions about Arms Micron Releases and International Sellers

Now that the new Robots in Disguise cartoon has begun airing in the U.S. and I've got a few of the figures from Takara's "Adventure" line, I'm thinking about filling in some gaps in my Prime/Aligned collection of characters, specifically some holes that Hasbro has left, but Takara has filled (and visa versa). On my short list is Arms Micron Ironhide, but searching eBay, I have some concerns. Are there already KO's on the market? I see a lot of listings from China and Taiwan at much lower prices ($20 USD range) than from U.S. sellers (usually in the $40 USD range). Is this simply due to importing costs, or have less scrupulous suppliers already figured out how to KO these recent figures? I know it happens a lot with the Masterpiece line. I don't want to buy an unofficial product. Am I better off paying more to avoid the possibility of a knock off figure, or is there not really any danger in that regard as of yet?

While i don't have an educated answer for you, I think the folks in the KO thread might be able to help.
Do a forum search and check em out.
Good luck.

I don't know of any KOs. A lot of the AM stuff can be had for prices that seem to good to be true for imports, but in reality I think a lot of them didn't do well and ended up needing clearance to move.
For instance, if you look at Big Bad Toy Store's current Arms Micron listings you'll see that almost everything is on a steep discount, and even if you check the "Sold Out" listings a few pages in to that you'll see that many were on a steep discount when they finally ran out of stock.

Thanks for the input. Good to know that the AM stuff really is just that cheap. It'll make it that much easier, I hope, to army build some air vehicons for my display.

Yeah, no. The TakaraTomy-only molds and retools like War Breakdown go for more due to their exclusivity.

Thankfully, I already have AM Breakdown. I got him when it became apparent that Hasbro wouldn't release it at all. Even if some of the other AM exclusives are a little pricier, that's partially mitigated by the increased affordability of some of the other pieces in the line.
