Movie toys are too alien looking
Other than Optimus Prime, Jazz, and Scorponok I found that the toys all have that squishy-face look with weird teeth. This doesn't count for all the toys, some never made it to the movie. However, I still bought some.
I like the Optimus Prime (leader class) except for the flames. Megatron (leader class) has a very wicked look, it suits him! Starscream (voyager class)-it's true don't judge a book by it's cover this toy will have you daydreaming of it for days!
The only other toy from this movie I want is an accurate transforming Frenzy. But I might just settle for the Fast-Action Battlers version.

Alien robots with alien faces. What a concept.

Lol this just keeps popping up over and over again. Once again I think the movie toys are great and are one step to later technology. Hey dude not everything is perfect, except what they have... take it or leave it...

it would have been absolutely ridiculous if the live action bots had human faces like in G1. The alien look is great, they still emote, and look like transformers really would.
Dont get me wrong, I love my transformers, G1 through to Cybertron, but the movie look is a facelift transformers needed to jump over to live action.

I think in the original cartoons, it was feared that kids will not identify with the characters if they had alien looking faces. Yes, they're giant robots from another planet, but faces was still a concern then. Now, society seems to have changed in where different designs are more tolerated. I can't say embraced since there has been a lot of talk about the faces of the Transformers movie characters.
I really don't care for the Decepticons faces, but oh well. They still look great, and the toys are fun.

I think you're over complecating it. The reason they had the faces they had in the cartoon (with the possible exception of Bumblebee) was cause the Japanese toys they used already had those faces. And all the later toys they made followed on from the style of the origanals.
And yeah, Im not very keen on the vast majority of the Decepticon's faces either.

If this is sarcasm, I dont see how it is warranted.
Your earlier post was similiar in thinking to mine.

I personally way prefer the tight sculpted faces 'imposed ' on TF toys by their diaclone/microman predecessors. I like many seem to have got used to the movie look, the toys have their own merits for sure especially the different approach to the actual transformations which i find far more interesting than say the cybertron line. Overall im still amazed just how accepting people are of this style, remember the first images showing up!! we are going through the same issue with teh new animated teen titan look, who can bet that when the toys come out we are all going to love em! oh and back to the movie toys, for some reason i like the FAB the best, they seem to have a bit more personality than the normal toys and are simple, rather gen 1 like.

its a matter of opinion, but if a G1 Megatron was strutting around in live action, Transformers would get laughed out of the theatre. It just wouldnt translate. I think the insect like facial features used for the cons are great personally.
It doesnt make sense that their faces would be as human looking as G1, the new look better distances them from human beings.
