significant flaws on 08 bumblebee's paint job

anyone else got this? I can notice small yellow streaks on the clear windows of the doors, marks on the yellow that I think are from the black. There's even a small black dot on the clear windscreen.

I don't want to go back and exchange but I might have to paint over it. worth it or not?

I'm not sure if this works in the States but I suggest you give them a call over the phone first. Tell them you are coming down to exchange. They might tell you then if there are any others or not. If not (most likely), tell them that you fully intend to change because of the defective paintjob. You wish to be contacted as soon as they have a new shipment in. Ask them if they want you to return the toy or not in the meantime. If so, get down there, get the name and phone number of the manager, his sales assistant, and his dog, and make clear you intend to follow up fully on this.

I don't know your travel situation, but BB'08 is in my opinion the best figure in the deluxe line, and lives up to the hype. Finally getting it can be one of the sweetest moments ever but you shouldn't have to accept defective paintwork just because he is so rare.

For the record, the only BB08 I have opened is my Takara version. It's near flawless, so hopefully your case will be more the exception rather than the norm.

I have the Hasbro version. I have heard of people complaining about certain mistakes in the paintjob.

I'm actually willing to paint a little bit; it's not much trouble - just need to make sure I will make it BETTER rather than worse.

Yeah, I would have bought the Takara one if I wasn't so lazy to order. Takara generally does apply better paint jobs, because in Asia collecting things is often done by adults. In the West it's more of a kid's thing.

Sucks that I started this hobby in Australia. To think that a Honky like me could've done so much better back home. :? Nevertheless, I'm happy with what I've got. I think of it like this: someone else will enjoy the Takara version I might've gotten, and as long as they take care of it, that works for me.

After all my majors at university are religion and philosophy...

Seriously though, even Hasbro toys should be taken care of - as much as I disapprove of their outrageous paint jobs.
