movie stuff sold out everywhere, but older lines still on the shelves?

Feel free to discuss anything about any of the thousands of Transformer toys here. Anything from Generation 1 all the way to the soon to be released, the never to be released or the hope to be released is fair game! Want to show off your stuff? Please post your's and see others in the Transformers Collections Forum.

movie stuff sold out everywhere, but older lines still on the shelves?

Seems like every store I go to is sold out of movie toys. On the other hand, they *do* have alot of other things going on in terms of Transformers if you avoid Wal-Mart (which has nothing of nothing)

And I'm totally not complaining; in fact, it's worked out very well for me. I'm being introduced to older lines (by older, I mean in the last year or two) and they're really awesome.

For example, at Sears in Pekin, IL (where I live) I got a bunch of Classics - Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Mirage, Astrotrain, and Starscream.

At two different TRU in the St. Louis area, I got a bunch of Cybertron stuff - Skywarp (which I really don't care for), Soundwave Voyager (which rocks), Dark Crumplezone, two Minicon sets, and some other stuff like the 20th DVD Prime (which is OK but not what I was hoping for), the Classics "Ultimate Battle" two-pack (again, not great, but not terrible), and then a couple of my movie toys - the 6-pack legends and three FAB's (Ratchet, Jazz, and Frenzy).

And occasionally Wally World does have something, I got an Alternator Rumble at one and a Classics Ramjet at another.

So I really have the movie to thank for getting me back into the Transformers, and also for getting a ton of other people into it, too, so I can discover all the stuff I've been missing.

In right at a month now, I think I've spent about $350 on Transformers (which is bound to slow down now, since I'm seeing the same stuff everywhere...either nothing at all or things I already have). And most of it is because of recommendations I found here since I've joined. Thanks, guys. Now to buy a bookshelf for display space...

Motto: "Ker-Klick... Choom!"
Weapon: Black Magic
I noticed that the movie toys do not last long at all.
The other day when I snagged my 08 Bumbles I left 2 on the pegs along with a Final battle Jazz, a couple of Payloads and Dreadwings.. The next day they were all gone..
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

Actually most of the Cybertron stuff disappeared from shelves just before the movie figures were released here in Australia. Many stores also got rid of their classics figures too.

Even now, when the Transformers sections are bare (due to no restocking of movie figures) stores have not put older lines back on the shelves to plug the gaps.

It's odd, because halfway through the Cybertron line, many stores filled the shelves with the last few lines of Energon figures, and Universe figures plugged holes during Energon...
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.
