age 5 and up and a bit of expertise is required for some, hence the difficulty rating on the boxes. you give kids Fast Action Battlers and you almost need to be mid-teen to handle a alternator properly and ahve nerves of steel for MP-5.

good question! i might say there is still a big difference between toys and action figure imo i would say toys are those like being played mosty by kids or younger ages then action figures are more boys themed collectibles... ask your self will a 5 yr old kid play with a bumblebee unleased? :P

I would say yes, TF toys are targeted more to adults in the Japanese market due to the declining birthrate in Japan. That is why they have come out with Kiss Players, The Music Label line (Soundwave Mp3 and Rumble/Frenzy headphones), and the Masterpiece line.

In the US, prior to the blockbuster movie coming out, only certain lines like the Commemorative series (G1 reissues) and the 20th Anniversary lines were geared more towards adult collectors but could be given to kids too. Otherwise, Hasbro's focus has always been on making TF for kids.
