Meantime is pure Awesome-sauce
I managed to find myself a Real Gear Meantime figure in my local Big W store. (It's an Australian store, so dont worry if you have never heard of it)
He is every kind of awesome, his alt mode is not only unique, it is almost passable as one of those chunky watches all the "cool" kids are wearing. I sits on my wrist very comfortably, without having the clasp closed, if only the face was rotated 90 degrees...
The colours are very Decepticon, and the stripes work well on him, the Decepticon symbol does not look out of place either.
The robot mode is no disappoint me either. extremely posable, in fact I doubt there is a scout sized figure out there with as much posability as this fellow. His hands are not as nice as they could be, but are no where near as bad as movie Deluxe Jazz. Having long feet that protude to both the front and back of the figure mean that he is extra stable, anbother bonus that enhances his posability. The colours remain the same in robot mode, with the band stripes now taking residence on his upper thighs, still remaining very striking.
Meantime is very much worth a purchase, if you have already purchased one or more real gear figures, you will already know how great this line is, and Meantime is another high-point in a line that is dominated by good figures.
If you do not have any Real gear figures, Meantime would be an excellent figure to start your collection.

what don't you like it? the grey, blue and silver all mesh nicely together, and the orange is fairy subdued, plus it grants him colour in botmode while not ruining the watch mode.megatroptimus wrote:I don't like the deco at all. Hopefully they'll make a better looking Autobot version...
plus, he's wearing himself. that is worth the price if admission alone

I'd get him if he was real watch. Perhaps once someone posts a guide how to fit him with a working time-piece.

buy a cheap casio watch at wallyworld, pop the back off both, insert.. usually, the cheap watch guts are pretty unifrom fitting.

I don't have the time to read the thread, but does anyone think I could convert meantime into a functioning watch?

no way in hell are you going to convert this guy into a real watch. the screen is 2-3mm thick on the rotating part, and even that is generous. if you scrapped the rotation, the sliding chest gets in the way, and removing the automorph would only achieve reduced stability. even they, yoou would still only have 4-5 mm at most, possibly 6, but that is streching it. sorry guys. if you could get the approriate resistors, transistors, batterys, lcds, ect, he would have to have a potbelly in botmode, plus he would have to cost about $20-25 since all the electronics wouls be tiny, andtherefore more expensive. i am sorry to crush your hopes and dreams, but even if it is at a rate of 1 person at a time, the truth must be told

Can you do that?
I haven't seen an actual Meantime yet. So i don't really know its entire anatomy.
Another question: Will the plastic strap be strong enough for actual use on the wrist?
